Wedding Card and Envelope

Today I want to share with you the card and envelope I created for my niece’s wedding.  I used the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2 Cricut cartridge for the phrases, Stretch Your Imagination for the bride and groom and the heart frame, and Art Philosophy or the heart shape.  I sized and arranged everything in Cricut Craft Room before cutting the shapes.

For the first time, I used the TBBM2 cartridge to write on the envelope and the heart on the inside of the card.  It was really quite easy with the Craft Room.  I used Sharpie markers in my Cricut Expression 2 by replacing the blade housing with an Adjustable Marker Holder by Chomas Creations.  It worked very well!  I did add a piece of scratch paper to the inside of the envelope so the marker would not bleed through the back side of the envelope.  Writing on the heart was a little bit trickier.  I added the heart and the phrase to the virtual mat in CCR so that I could adjust the size of the heart to have the phrase fit inside.  Next, I moved the heart image off the virtual mat so that I could write the phrase.  Since I used 2 different cartridges, this is the only way I have figured out to be able to make the Cricut cut the image.  Otherwise, I’d get an error message saying the wrong cartridge is installed.  Once I had the phrase written, I moved the heart back to the virtual mat and them moved the phrase off to the side.  Then I removed the Marker Holder and replaced the blade housing so I could cut the heart.  This may sound complicated but it really was pretty easy!  Let me know if you would like a better or more detailed explanation of how to do this.

One other little touch I added was to emboss a piece of vellum with the Cuttlebug Cross My Heart folder.  I adhered this piece behind the bride and groom on the front of the card.  A bit of red Stickles on the heart in the frame and some pearl dots on the corners finished off my card.

Have a fabulous weekend!

This is how I set it up in CCR.

Here I show how I moved the phrase off the mat so I could cut the heart.

I have it sized the way I want.

I have moved the heart off the mat so I can have the Cricut write the phrase.

It worked!

The completed card and envelope.

I added a black shadow layer and also inked the edges of the white heart to make it stand out better.

I like how it turned out!
