Washi Tape Projects

It’s Design Team Day for My Cricut Craft Room!

Does anyone else have a thing for Washi tape?  You just gotta love those bright colors and designs, especially when you find them at a big discount online–multiple times!!  But now that you have dozens of rolls and you’ve figured out a cute way to store them, what do you actually do with them?

Today I’m sharing a couple of card ideas using Washi tape.  For the first card, I chose some tapes with coordinating colors and simply applied them side by side to a piece of white cardstock.  This created a colorful background for the black overlay that I cut from the Cricut Artbooking cartridge by Close To My Heart.  I embellished the card with a stamped sentiment and a black flower with pink bling in the center.

The second card uses washi tape in two different ways.  Like the first card, I created a striped background by applying washi tape to a piece of cardstock.  This made a nice base for the word “Birthday” which I spelled out using green chipboard letters from Above Rubies Studio.  The second use of washi tape was to create the flags.  I simply folded the washi tape around some flat balsa wood pieces (toothpicks would work too), trimmed them to look flag-like and spelled out “Happy” with letters from my stash.

Have a wonderful Wednesday (and do something crafty)!!
