This week at Bitten by the Bug 2 our theme is Dancing Winter Snowflakes. Who knew how appropriate this theme would be this week for our friends in the eastern part of the country! My brother and his family in Pennsylvania were blessed with 31.7 inches of those beautiful dancing snowflakes. I’m sure glad we missed the storm in Nebraska, but I think those beautiful snowflakes made a pretty awesome card!
I used the Winter Wonderland Cricut cart with various glitter and shimmer paper to create the beautiful snowflakes on this card. Ever since I bought this cartridge, I have been curious about the multi-layered snowflake overlay so this was a great time to try it out! The stamp is from the Diamonds are Forever stamp set from Close To My Heart. Since every snowflake is supposed to be unique, this was the perfect sentiment!
Please join us at Bitten by the Bug 2 to see the other Design Team projects. And since you might be stuck inside with nothing to do but craft, link all those snowflake projects you make for everyone to enjoy!
Have a wonderful week and if you are in an affected area, try to enjoy the forced “slowdown” that those dancing snowflakes are causing! Laurie
This week at Bitten by the Bug 2 we are gearing up for Christmas! I am pleased to be hosting the challenge this week and since many people are decorating for Christmas now, I chose the theme of “Hanging the Greens” for our topic. I love using beautiful greens for my holiday home décor and for paper crafted projects so this was a natural choice for me!
I made two different cards for my Design Team project and had a very hard time deciding which one to put on the BBTB2 blog. So I will share BOTH of them here! I used the Anna Griffin Winter Wonderland cartridge for my Cricut cuts. It has such beautiful, traditional, intricate cuts that really suit my crafting style. The background paper is from a My Mind’s Eye Christmas paper pack that I have had for a while and the cardstock is from Close To My Heart.
I used two separate images to create the design for the front of this card–a bell and a holly swag with a bow. I wish the photos would have better captured the glitter paper that I used for the bow and the shadow of the frame. I love how it turned out!
The second card I’m sharing today has a poinsettia cut, also from Winter Wonderland. My Cricut Explore cut this intricate design so beautifully and the Close To My Heart cardstock really helped too! I love this poinsettia card just as much as the holly card–can you see why I had a hard time deciding which to post to the BBTB2 blog? Which one do you like the best?
Please check out the other Design Team projects and then link up your own artwork at Bitten By The Bug 2 this week! Enjoy the “Hanging of the Greens” this holiday season and don’t forget to add a little sparkle to your life every day! Laurie
