Masculine Cards with Urban Paper

Posted on

Hello Friends!

I just can’t seem to get enough of the grungy, industrial feel of the Urban paper collection from Close To My Heart!  And thankfully, Father’s Day gave me the chance to use it again and again.  I even swapped out the Father’s Day sentiment for Happy Birthday to double the fun!!

IMG_3557This first card was inspired by some posts I’ve seen online where people are using zip strips from the tops of CTMH paper in creative ways.  I dove-tailed the ends of the zip strips and added some pattern paper strips to make a cluster of banners.  I had some gear shapes left over from a previous project that I had cut from the Artiste cartridge by Close To My Heart and used them as a border at the top of my card.   The sentiment is a stamp from the new Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog.

IMG_3556The second card is also created with a zip strip along the left side, more of the left over gears from Artiste and a few Urban Complements.  The sentiment is from the Stamps of Approval stamp set by Close To My Heart.  I love that it has coordinating cuts on the Artistry cartridge, so no fussy cutting required!!

Thanks for stopping by today!  If you would like to purchase any of the supplies I used to create these cards, please visit my online shopping site HERE.

SMILE and make it a WONDERFUL day!!   Laurie

Awesome Urban Card

Posted on

Hello Friends!

Today I’d like to share a card I made for a Close To My Heart Consultant’s Card Swap organized by one of my up lines, Linda Caler.  Each participant chose a stamp set from the new Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog and created a card using that stamp set.  I chose to use the Beyond Awesome stamp set and the Urban paper collection.  I also cut the “Awesome” from the Artistry Cricut cartridge from Close To My Heart.

IMG_3497I think this card could be used for all kinds of occasions–graduation, pick-me-up, friendship or congratulations, just to name a few.  The feel is very masculine from the Urban paper which is good because and I’m always needing masculine cards.

Take a look at the Beyond Awesome stamp set.  It has such versatile sentiments and is just perfect for me–the person who most likely overuses the word “awesome” more than anyone ever!  Awesome!!

And here is a picture of the amazing Urban paper collection.  I love, love, love it for all those masculine projects!  Shop HERE to get these Close To My Heart products.

Graduation Cards for Card Workshop

Hello Friends!

Graduations cards already?  Really?  Even though it is hard to imagine, the school year will soon be winding down and Graduation will be the focus for many families.  I am hosting a Card Workshop on April 16 and 17 and here are a few of the Graduation cards that will be available for crafters to make.

These Graduation cards are just a few of the many types of cards you can make at the upcoming Card Workshop for just $2.00 a card.  Others include Birthday, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Wedding.  Many cards can be personalized by choosing different colors or sentiments–the sky is the limit!

If you cannot attend the Card Workshop, I would be happy to make up kits of the cards you would like for $2.00 each plus shipping.  I would also sell completed cards for $3.00 each or 4 for $10.00.  Just let me know how I can help and stay tuned for pictures of other cards soon!

Hello Friends,

Thank you for stopping by the Crafty Sisters blog today!  I would like to share my latest Design Team project for the Heart 2 Heart Challenges–All About the Alphabet!  I think this card would be great for a graduation or even a general “pat on the back” for anyone.  I absolutely love the Urban paper collection by Close To My Heart and think it was the perfect choice for this masculine themed card!

The alphabet overlay is from the Artbooking cartridge by Close To My Heart.  I used Saffron and Sapphire cardstock and Sapphire ink to complement the distressed look of the Urban paper.  The stamped sentiment is from the Stamp of Approval stamp set which coordinates with the Artistry cartridge, both by Close To My Heart.

Please stop by the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog to check out the other Design Team Alphabet projects.  Then please consider linking your own Alphabet themed projects to share with everyone!  It’s easy and fun!

Have an awesome day and week!   Laurie

Masculine Birthday Cards

Posted on

Hello Friends!

Today I would like to share a couple of masculine birthday cards that I recently made.  I used the new Urban paper collection by Close To My Heart along with Sapphire, Glacier, Fern, Poppy, Chocolate and Saffron cardstock. I love how the patterned papers look like sheets of industrial metal and blueprints–perfect for masculine cards!

The sentiment block and stamped image comes from the Artistry bundle, the newest Cricut cartridge from Close To My Heart.  The gears and the Roman numeral border can be found on the Artiste cartridge by CTMH.  Triangle Durable studs add the perfect finishing touch.

For the sentiments on the inside of the cards, I used a stamp set called Birthday Funnies.  This is a stamp set which can only be purchased when you earn Hostess Rewards.  I think the sentiments are so cute and I can see using this set a LOT for future projects!

Shine on, everyone!   Laurie

Hello Friends!

There are only a couple of weeks left to get the Hello Life stamp sets!  This is a set of 3 exclusive C sized stamp sets that you can purchase for $13.95 each or all three for only $34.95–that’s a $6.90 savings! I was able to play with these stamps and some of our new colors to create a few cards.  Enjoy!

This card uses the new colors of Pomegranate, Poppy, Saffron, Peacock, and Eggplant to stamp the paint streaks.  I just love these new jewel tones!

2015-09-09 22.44.17

I created a background strip using the cute chevron star shape from the Hello Life stamps and mounted it on a Poppy background layered on Peacock.  It is hard to see in the picture, but I also used strips of the new Gold Foil Tape to accent the center panel.

2015-09-09 22.44.03

For this card, I used the new Urban paper collection, the Ink Blot stamp set along with the Hello Life stamps.
