It’s Monday and time for another challenge at Heart 2 Heart! This week is a sketch challenge and it’s a fun one! The sketch is very clean and simple and right away I thought about one of the brand new Close To My Heart products to create my card.
I used one of the papers from the new Whimsy Fundamentals collection as the background of my card and created the diagonal line in the sketch by making a row of roses from the Beautiful You Stamp Set and Thin Cut bundle. This is a fabulous triple layered stamp set that can create gorgeous roses with layers and lots of texture.
These roses can be a little tricky to stamp, so I took a few photos of the process.
The first layer is stamped in the new Color of the Year called Bashful.
The second layer is stamped in Blossom. The key is to keep the Thin Cut shapes and the stamps all going in the same direction.
The final layer is stamped in Poppy. I really love the depth that these triple stamps give to the rose images and I can’t wait to experiment with other color combinations to make lots of other roses for lots of other projects!
Please be sure to stop by Heart 2 Heart to see the other design team projects using Haley’s great sketch! Then link up your projects for everyone to enjoy.

The Heart 2 Heart Challenge this week is to create a project with the beautiful No Worries paper collection. It was “love at first sight” for me with this paper! Not only do I have family living near the beach in Florida, but there is so much non-beachy potential with this paper too!
I decided to make a birthday card for my Florida son who will be celebrating later in July. I used the Basic Circles Thin Cuts (Z3318) to cut a circle in the front of the card for the Happy Birthday sentiment to peek through.
I used the Swirly Seashells Stamp and Thin Cut set (CC1219) to make the seashells. I colored them with our watercolor pencils then gave them a layer of shine from our Shimmer Brush. Sequins and a little burlap ribbon added just the right embellishment.
Here is the card partially open so you can see the circular opening in the front. Below is another version of the card that I made. This time I heat embossed the shells with gold embossing powder. Do you have a favorite?
Please stop by Heart 2 Heart to see the other design team projects using No Worries. There are some awesome projects there! Then get out your own No Worries paper and start crafting. Be sure to share you artwork at H2H for everyone to enjoy!
I really haven’t taken much time to create with the Little Dreamer paper collection yet. So when the granddaughter of a friend of mine had a unicorn themed birthday, I had to pull out those cute little unicorns to make her card. I think it was the perfect choice!
I chose to use a trifold shutter design for this card so that it stands up by itself with interesting folds. I used several of the pattern papers in the Little Dreamer collection along with the coordinating Thin Cut/Stamp set bundle. Those little unicorns are just adorable!
Here is what the card looks like from the top, showing how the folds form two diamond shapes.
Thanks for stopping by the Crafty Sisters Creations blog today! If you need any of the supplies I used to create this card, please shop HERE! If you would like directions for making this card, just let me know! It’s easy! Laurie
My husband and I celebrated our 30th Anniversary this week! How quickly time passes when you spend it with a really fabulous person. I don’t have enough words to describe how awesome he is!!
Of course, I had to make him an anniversary card so I got out the Jack paper pack and the new Jack Cardmaking Thin Cuts and Stamp set bundle. What an awesome paper pack for all your masculine projects! And the cute little bear will be useful for so many things–think little boy birthdays, Father’s Day, camping/outdoor layouts and so much more!
Here are a couple of pictures of Dave and me on the beach in Destin, Florida. We flew here yesterday to visit our son, his wife and our two grandsons. Last night they took us out for an anniversary dinner at a restaurant on the water. PERFECT!!
Thanks for stopping by today! If you need any of the products I used to make my card, you can find them all HERE. I certainly appreciate your business!! Laurie
This week at Bitten by the Bug 2 we are celebrating BIRTHDAYS! I chose to get out my new Little Dreamer Paper and Cardmaking Thin Cuts bundle for the first time to make this cute birthday card for a little girl. I used the Artistry and Artbooking cartridges from Close To My Heart to make the birthday sentiment on the front of the card.
The card design is a center panel step fold and I found the directions on Pinterest. I thought the center panel would be the perfect way to feature that adorable unicorn! What little girl doesn’t love unicorns? Everyone needs birthday cards to have on hand, so here is your chance to replenish your supply! And while you’re at it, link up those cards at Bitten by the Bug 2 to share with everyone!
Thanks for stopping by today! Something WONDERFUL is about to happen!! Laurie
I know, I know! Sugar Rush is retired paper now and I should be making things with the new paper, but I just can’t seem to let it go! It’s just the cutest paper for whimsical birthday cards and paired with the cute donut Thin Cuts, what’s a girl to do but PLAY??
Here are two versions of a card using the same basic elements. One is horizontal and one is vertical. I know a couple of people who might be getting one of these cute cards for their upcoming birthdays!
Tomorrow I’ll be on to projects with the new Close To My Heart paper packs, I promise! Have a wonderful day! Laurie
