Happy Birthday, Dear Finley!!

Hello, Friends!

I’m continuing the BIRTHDAY theme today by sharing a couple of things I made for my grandson’s fourth birthday!  It can’t be possible that he is already 4 years old, but those thoughts can be saved for another time.  Let’s get on with the crafting!

My very creative daughter-in-law planned a fishing themed party and I offered to make the invitations.  She found an image from Pinterest that I used as my inspiration, but unfortunately I don’t know who to credit for the original idea.  They were a little labor intensive, but turned out awfully cute, I think!

I then made a cute fishing themed card my grandson.  I designed the card in Design Space using several cartridges including Teddy Bear Parade, Outdoor Man and A Child’s Year.  The sentiment on the inside says, “You are the Catch of the Day”!

I’m so glad I could help with the birthday celebrations, but a little sad that I couldn’t be there in person.  I think I may need to schedule a trip to sunny Florida very soon!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!   Laurie

BBTB2 Design Team Project–Back to School!

Hello Friends!

Today I am sharing my Design Team project for Bitten By The Bug 2.  The theme for the week is Back To School and boy, does this bring up some bittersweet feelings for me!  After teaching young children for 32 years, it always feels a little strange to be working in my craft room instead of getting ready for a new school year!  But fortunately those bittersweet feelings are very short lived because I LOVE RETIREMENT more!!

I chose to make a card for this challenge.  I used the cute Teddy Bear Parade and Recess Cricut cartridges and designed my card in Design Space.  I seriously don’t know how I accomplished anything before I started using my Explore and the Design Space software.  It is so much easier now!  I used bright, primary colors for my cuts and placed them on a background that was embossed with my Cuttlebug.

Please join us at Bitten By The Bug 2 by linking your school themed projects this week.  We LOVE to see what everyone creates!

Remember something WONDERFUL is about to happen!   Laurie

Valentine Cards for Kids

Hello, Friends!

I have been working on some cute Valentine cards for children.  The first picture is the front and the second picture is the inside of the card.  I think these would be great for giving to a special child or grandchild!  The images came from the Create a Critter and Teddy Bear Parade Cricut cartridges and I used paper from a Recollections Valentine pack from Michaels.  The stamped sentiments are from Close To My Heart stamp sets.  If you are interested in ordering any of these cards, just let me know.  I can also personalize them with the recipient’s name, favorite colors, or a specific theme.  Each card is 5 inches by 6 1/2 inches and includes multiple layers for each image.  Cards are $3.00 each or 4 for $10.00.
