Welcome Summer!!

Hello Friends!

The challenge this week at Bitten by the Bug 2 is SUMMER!  It’s June and the hot weather has arrived, at least here in Nebraska, so time to start thinking about summer activities.  And nothing says summer like a day at the beach with a cute little boy who is quite the beach bum!

I used Cricut cuts from several cartridges–Photo Fun (sun overlay), April Showers (word “sunshine”) and Pack Your Bags (sun with a face).  The paper is from a summer themed collection by Authentique.  I just love the feel of pure joy and excitement in these photos of my grandson!  If only that feeling could be bottled up and shared…

Please top over at Bitten by the Bug 2 to see the other design team projects which celebrate SUMMER.  Then we’d love to have you link up your own summer projects for all of us to enjoy!

Hope it feels like you are “walking on sunshine” today!   Laurie

Making a Splash at BBTB2!

Hello Friends!

This week at Bitten by the Bug 2 the theme is Sea Animals.  I decided to make a card with a dolphin jumping over the waves.  I tried to make it seem as though you were looking through a ship’s porthole to watch the dolphin.  Unfortunately, the acetate layer I added to the card is not visible in the photo.  I used images from Pack Your Bags and Life’s a Beach and switched them up in Design Space to suit my needs.  The paper is from a beach themed paper pack I got at Michael’s.

Head over to Bitten by the Bug 2 to see the other Design Team projects.  Then create your own projects with a Sea Animal Cricut cut, link it up and join the fun!

Wishing you many SMILES this week!   Laurie

Happy Birthday to You!

This week I helped to celebrate the birthdays of two of my friends.  One of the birthdays was a big one–60 candles!! The first card was made with scraps of shimmer paper, purple cardstock, and white cardstock embossed with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug folder.  The image of the woman came from the Pack Your Bags Cricut cartridge.  Inside is a humorous sentiment that fit the birthday girl perfectly!

This next card was so fun to make!  If you haven’t tried a tri-fold shutter card yet, put it on your “things to try” list.  They look complicated and impressive, but once you get the scoring and folding down, they are a snap to make!  I used the Simple Stories Birthday themed paper pack and stickers to decorate this card.  I hope it helped make my friend’s 60th birthday a little more festive!

Make it a great day!  Laurie
