Have you ever made a side step card? They are very easy and you can find all kinds of directions on Pinterest or YouTube. I decorated mine with papers, cutouts and stickers that came with some October Afternoon and My Mind’s Eye Halloween paper packs I’ve had in my stash.
Thanks for stopping by! I’m back in Florida having a wonderful time with my grandsons and daughter in law! Laurie
Time to “cowboy up”–whatever that means! Even though I live in Nebraska, I’m about as far from a cowgirl as the First Lady! But I needed to make a thank you card for an older cowboy, so I pulled out some October Afternoon paper that I’ve had in my stash and got to work.
I used the stamp set Homegrown by Close To My Heart to stamp the sentiment and the barn image on the cowboy journaling card for the front of the card. I made several layers of pattern paper and cardstock cut into banners, popped up the main sentiment and added a couple metal triangle studs.
I used letter stickers from the October Afternoon collection to spell out “thanks” on the inside of the card. I really love the black, gray and yellow color theme of the papers on this card. I think the old cowboy who receives this card with get a kick out of it too!

Today I would like to share a birthday card that I made for the daughter of a good friend. She wanted a card with cowboy boots and a black, white and red color theme so I immediately thought of some October Afternoon paper that I have been saving for quite some time. I used Design Space and my Cricut Explore to find just the right pair of cowboy boots. I added a little bling with red Stickles, a little lace along the bottom, and a banner and sentiment from the Artiste cartridge collection by Close To My Heart.
On the inside, I used the writing feature on the Explore to create a personalized sentiment inside the scrolled frame. I just love how you can create any sentiment you want with so many available fonts! I really don’t know how I got along for so long with my old Cricuts!
I hope something wonderful has happened to each of you this week!
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s been quite a while since I’ve made actual scrapbook pages, since I’ve been doing lots of mini albums lately. I went to a weekend retreat this past weekend and had fun making some Christmas pages of my grandson. He turned one in January and is still my favorite subject to scrap!
The first 2 layouts were made with Yuletide Carol papers from Close To My Heart and embellished with various Cricut cuts.
The next layout was made with Snowhaven papers from Close To My Heart.
On the final 2 layouts I used October Afternoon paper and embellishments. I love the whimsical, vintage feel of this paper with these pictures!
