Happy Independence Day!! Appropriately the challenge this week at Bitten by the Bug 2 is Fireworks. The design team was asked create a project that contains a firework, firecracker or sparkler Cricut cut. I had the perfect pictures for this and a layout idea was born!
Last year our son and his family were able to spend the July Fourth holiday with us in Nebraska. We had lots of fun introducing our grandson to some simple fireworks like parachutes, sparklers and poppers. He especially liked stomping on the poppers. It was great fun and I have so many special memories of that weekend. Thank goodness I’m a scrapbooker and those memories are now recorded forever!
I used the Independence Day-Celebrate Cricut cartridge for the fireworks and rocket cuts. The beautiful Authentique paper and coordinating embellishments that I had been saving (hoarding!) were just perfect for this project.
Now it’s your turn to join the fun! Create your own projects that have a firework themed Cricut cut and link them up at Bitten by the Bug 2 for everyone to enjoy!
Hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend and thanks for stopping by today! Laurie
My husband asked me to create a card for a fellow firefighter who recently retired from the Fire Department. I used the Independence Day Cricut cartridge to make the fire truck. I added “T1” to the side to represent the truck company the retiree worked on, and added clear Stickles to make it sparkle. I also outlined the truck with a glitter pen to give it some definition. The blue, red and silver overlay was made with the CTMH Artbooking cartridge. I used Cricut Craft Room to Hide Contour on the red and blue overlays, and added a rectangular piece of silver paper to the back. For help with CCR and Hide Contour watch this video on YouTube by Joy Tracey of Obsessed With Scrapbooking. The Congrats sentiment was stamped on a banner cut from the Small Talk Frames & Tags Cricut cartridge. I added foam dimensional tape to the banner and the fire truck.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
