Hello Friends!

It’s time for some new Club projects!  We will be playing with Florence paper, Calypso paper, and two different sets of Thin Cuts and their coordinating stamp sets.

Our Florence layout will hold four 4×6 photos.  My layout has them in the horizontal position, but you can certainly arrange them vertically as well!  The simple embellishments are made with the Ornate Blossoms Thin Cuts and coordinating stamp set.

Our fancy fold card is made with Calypso paper and the Tickled Pink Thin Cuts and coordinating stamp set.  The style of card is a Vertical Z Fold design.

Club dates will be Sunday, July 10 from 1:00 to 4:00, Monday, July 11 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m and Tuesday, July 12 from 1:00 to 4:00.  Everyone is welcome to come!  Non-Club members can attend for an $8.00 fee or FREE with a $50.00 CTMH purchase!  Hope to see you there!

More Florence Cards

Hello Friends!

Yesterday I shared a couple of cards I made with the beautiful Florence paper by Close To My Heart.  Well, just like eating potato chips, it’s hard for me to stop with just one!  So here are some more!  I found a tutorial for these vertical Z fold cards on Splitcoast Stampers (via Pinterest) and wanted to give this technique a try.  What do you think?

Again I used the CTMH “A Bunch of Love” stamp set and Thin Cuts to make the floral image on the front of each card.  I colored the images with my Shin Han markers and mounted them on a fancy shape from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  This cartridge will be retiring soon, so if you do not own it yet, don’t delay!  They are on a “while supplies last” basis.

Here are pictures of the cards when fully open.  There is a sentiment and a space to write a message on the inside.

When closed, the front section of the card is tucked under a flower that is popped up with dimensional foam.  They stand nicely on their own for display.  A sprinkle of Florence sequins added a bit of bling to each card.

If you would like directions for these cards, just let me know.  And if you would like any of the supplies I used, shop HERE.

Florence Cards and A Bunch of Love

Posted on

Hello Friends!

I absolutely LOVE the Florence paper collection by Close To My Heart!  It has such rich, vibrant colors that make me very happy!  There is a stamp set and coordinating Thin Cuts called “A Bunch of Love” that goes so well with Florence.  Take a look at the cards I made—

The top card is embellished with Rose Gold foil tape and the Florence multicolored sequins.  I colored the image with my Shin Han markers.  On the second card I heat embossed the stamped image in gold before coloring with the Shin Han markers.  I used the regular Gold foil tape and gold sequins to match the gold embossing.

The Florence paper collection and matching embellishments are only available for one more month, so don’t wait until they’re gone to order yours!  Shop HERE for all your Close To My Heart products.

Ties That Bind at H2H

Posted on

Hello Friends!

This week on Heart 2 Heart Challenges the theme is Ties That Bind.  You are encouraged to use Ties (think Father’s Day) or have a Tie theme or even Tie something on your project.

I just returned from a glorious visit to my oldest son and his family in Destin, Florida.  My youngest son was also able to go, so this mama was in heaven having her whole family together!  I took a lot of pics, of course, but just loved these two of my handsome sons.  They are very good friends now, even though when they were young I wasn’t sure that would ever happen!

For this layout I challenged myself NOT to use my Cricut.  I know, CRAZY hard for me, right? I pulled out the new Florence paper collection from Close To My Heart.  Many of the papers have a floral theme, but I chose those that I thought would look more masculine along with Poppy and Peacock cardstock.  The center diagonal feature is simply three of the cut apart PML type cards included in this paper pack bordered with two zip strips.  I tied Poppy twine around each of the pictures and added embellishments from the Florence Complements.

Please stop by Heart 2 Heart to see the other design team projects!  You can always link up your own Ties That Bind projects for everyone to enjoy.

Fancy Fold Cards

Hello Friends!

A while back I made a Fancy Fold card for one of the Heart 2 Heart Challenges design team projects.  I loved this design so much, so I decided to create three more with three different paper collections.  These will be Congratulations cards for a few of my retiring teacher friends.  Enjoy!

Going Vintage at Heart 2 Heart

Posted on

Hello Friends!

The challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart Challenges is to create a Vintage inspired project.  I made some birthday cards recently with this style of card and loved them!  So I thought I would turn it sideways, add a little pop-up feature and create a retirement card for a former school colleague and friend.

I used the new Florence paper collection on a base of Flaxen cardstock.  To give it a more vintage look, I inked the edges of all the papers with Cocoa ink and distressed the edges with my Zutter electric Distrezz-It-All. I embellished the card with a zip strip, flowers that I fussy cut from the patterned paper and sequins that coordinate with the Florence paper.

Stop over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges to check out the other design team projects and then link up your own Vintage themed projects for everyone to enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  You are some kind of awesome!!   Laurie
