Football Season is Here!

Hello Friends!

This week at Bitten by the Bug 2, the theme is FOOTBALL!  I don’t know about you, but I spent quite a few hours on Saturday watching the first games of college football.  As the mother of two sons who both played football, and with 3 high school State Championships and one State Runner up between them, I either had to learn to love the sport or be left out in the cold!

I made a layout about my oldest son’s seventh grade football team.  The photos are not great since nice digital cameras and phones were not available, but I still wanted to document and remember that time in his life.

The layout design is from the brand new Make it From Your Heart Vol. 3 idea book (sketch 1) from Close To My Heart.  The Cricut cuts are all from the newest CTMH cartridge called You Are Here and the paper is from the new Enchantment Fundamentals, also from CTMH.  I embellished the layout with Thin Cut stars (now retired).

Please head over to Bitten by the Bug 2 to see the other design team projects and then link up your own FOOTBALL artwork for everyone to enjoy!  If you need any of the supplies I used to create this layout, please shop HERE.  Thank you!   Laurie

August Stamp of the Month

Hello Friends!

Have you seen the August Stamp of the Month?  It’s called School Days and is perfect for this “back to school” time of the year.  Take a look–

Here is a card I made using this School Year stamp and some of the brand new Enchantment Fundamentals paper that just came out on August 1.

And here are a couple of projects made by the folks at the Close To My Heart home office–

Boy, I can think of lots of projects that could use this stamp set–of course there are back to school cards and gift tags for your child’s teachers and scrapbook pages documenting the first and last days of school.  But what about that awesome wooden-look frame?  That would be great to feature a sentiment on a card or layout or you could make it look of an old fashioned blackboard.  And the speech balloon would be perfect for labeling funny pictures on a layout.  Then there is that image that would nicely document the details of a child’s elementary years on school photos for a graduation display or mini album.  I think I could go on and on…

You can get this stamp for only $5.00 with any Close To My Heart purchase.  Please consider shopping with me on my online shopping site HERE.  Thanks for stopping by today!   Laurie

Eagle Scout Congrats Card

Hello Friends!

My nephew in Pennsylvania has just earned his Eagle Scout Badge and will be honored at a Court of Honor this weekend!  I wanted to make a special card for him to celebrate this awesome achievement.

I used Sketch 188 from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenges to create my card.  I think it was the perfect design for my card so I am linking my project to their blog–check it out!  The paper is from the Enchantment Fundamentals collection from Close To My Heart along with coordinating cardstock colors of Cranberry, Sapphire, Whisper and White.

The Cricut images were cut from the Be Prepared for Boy Scouts cartridge.  I don’t own this cartridge, but I was able to purchase the two cuts I used for only 99 cents each.  I love my Explore and Design Space!  The cuts were so intricate, but they cut beautifully–another reason to love my Explore!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Do something AWESOME today!!   Laurie

You Are Spectacular!

Hello Friends!

This week at Bitten by the Bug 2, the theme is Focus On You.  We are to somehow use a pair of GLASSES on our projects.  Well, I have had my eye (so to speak) on the eyeglass overlay cut from the Artistry cartridge by Close To My Heart for quite some time.  This challenge provided the perfect time to use it and the adorable picture of my grandson sporting his Harry Potter glasses was the perfect subject for my layout!

I used the new Enchantment Paper Fundamentals, also from Close To My Heart and Peacock cardstock.  I love how the background paper behind the glasses overlay has rows of letters that reminded me of an eye chart!  The silly eyes that I sprinkled around on the layout came from the Photo Booth cartridge.  The font is also from Artistry.

Please check out the other design team projects at Bitten by the Bug 2 to see more creative projects that Focus On You with eyeglass Cricut cuts.  Then link up your own projects for everyone to enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by today and remember YOU ARE SPECTACULAR too!!   Laurie
