At Bitten by the Bug 2 this week the challenge is all about PENGUINS! They are the perfect symbol for winter and it’s pretty good timing since we are expecting some bad winter weather by morning. Better to focus on these cute, wobbly fellows than icy roads and snowdrifts, that’s for sure!
I used the Winter Frolic cartridge to cut the penguin, but he was wearing a Santa hat and I wanted to make a birthday card. So I cut a birthday hat from Doodlecharms and glued it over the Santa hat. The sentiment is from the Birthday Cakes cartridge and the background paper and cardstock is from Close To My Heart.
Stop on over to Bitten by the Bug 2 to see the other cute penguins created by our Design Team. It would be fun if you would link up your own Penguin projects for everyone to enjoy!
I hope your week is off to a great start and you are not slipping and sliding in the snow like a penguin!! Laurie
The challenge this week at Bitten by the Bug 2 is to create a project with a pool or beach theme. My son and his family live near the beach in Destin, Florida. I made a card for them a while back with this cute saying, but decided to also create a home décor piece they can display in their Florida home.
I used a combination of many Cricut cartridges when I designed this project. The shells are from the new Mermaid Party cartridge. The palms trees are a cut from Doodlecharms. The dolphins are from Life is a Beach and the waves are from Crocs Rule. The font I used for the saying is also from Life is a Beach.
It’s summertime and I’m sure lots of you have some amazing beach pictures and projects to make! Link them up at Bitten by the Bug 2 for everyone to enjoy!

I hope you can enjoy the beach or pool this week! Laurie
This week the Bitten By The Bug 2 challenge is to create a project with fruits of summer. My favorite summer fruits are peaches, so I naturally thought of those sweet, beautiful lovelies first! Create your own Cricut project with YOUR favorite fruit of summer and link it up on the BBTB2 blog. While you are there, check out the other Design Team members’ creations. You are sure to find some inspiration today!
I used Cricut cuts from Wild Card 2 and Just Because Cards to create this “peachy keen” card. Then I mounted the cuts using foam squares on a background that I embossed with a wood grain Cuttlebug folder. Two coordinating colored mats frame the simple design.
And since I really love summer watermelon too, I decided to put together this fun and colorful thank you card as well! I cut the watermelon border from Doodlecharms and the sentiment from Just Because Cards. These images were also attached to an embossed background using dimensional foam with a nice brown mat to highlight the whole thing.
