Today I’m sharing a wedding card I made with the Thin Cut/stamp set called Hello Lovely Cardmaking Bundle from Close To My Heart. I challenged myself to only use two colors for this card–red and white. First I used the Thin Cuts and my Cuttlebug to cut out the shapes. Then I stamped the matching images in Versamark on Cranberry cardstock, sprinkled on white embossing and used my heat tool to melt the powder. This made the images quite crisp and clear on the red cardstock.
I adhered the stamped images onto a background of embossed hearts and added a red ribbon with white hearts as embellishment. I think this makes quite an elegant card for a wedding.
I’m excited to use this Hello Lovely Thin Cut/Stamp set again very soon! Check out a picture of the set below. The images outlined in blue are those with a matching Thin Cut. For more information or to purchase this awesome set, click HERE!

This week at Bitten by the Bug 2 the challenge is to create a project using any cute animal Cricut cut. Well, I don’t know if there is anything cuter than a dancing alligator, do you? I needed to make a birthday card for a young girl and I think this one will be perfect! The cute little alligator came from the cartridge Twinkle Toes, one I have never used before.
I embossed the white background with a Happy Birthday embossing folder and used a stamp from Close To My Heart for the sentiment. The only embellishments needed were a few white gems, some coordinating banners and little white glitter paper.
Head over to Bitten by the Bug 2 to see the cute animal projects made by my design team sisters to get your own creative juices flowing. Then share your own projects with us at BBTB2–the world could sure use a few cute animal projects these days, don’t you think?
Hope your week is off to a wonderful start! Laurie
I am pleased to host the challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart. It’s a Black and White Tuxedo theme! I have always loved the simple elegance that a black and white color palette can give to a project and this was no exception. I created an all occasion card using the Hello Lovely Day to Day scrapbooking stamp set for the rose and leaves and the “hello” Thin Cut for my sentiment.
To embellish the Black and White Daisy cardstock card, I embossed the background panel with a vertical stripes embossing folder (now only available on Clearance), Black and White Shimmer Trim and cut the “hello” from black glitter paper.
Please take a look at the other stunning black and white projects created by the Heart 2 Heart Design team. Then join in the fun, create your own artwork and share with us! We really love to see what you all come up with!

At Bitten by the Bug 2 this week the challenge is to create a project using RED and WHITE. I made this simple card from Flower Market and Art Philosophy(retired) cartridges by Close To My Heart. It was really hard for me to stick to only two colors so I just had to add a splash of green for the flower’s stem.
I used two retired embossing folders which are on clearance from Close To My Heart (Diamonds and Dots) to add more interest and texture to the card and popped up several elements using dimensional foam. The white layer behind the flower is cut from glitter paper.

Valentine’s Day is next week! Do you have your cards made? Here are a couple that I played around with today. Have I ever said that I LOVE Design Space? It is so easy to search for images, design online and actually see what your project will look like before you cut!
The cuts came from various cartridges and I honestly didn’t keep track of which ones I used. Cardstock is from Close To My Heart and the heart embossing folder is also from CTMH.
Thank you for visiting the blog today! Spread a little sunshine wherever you go! Laurie
My husband and I celebrated our 29th anniversary this week, so I thought I would share a couple of anniversary cards that I recently made. The first card is made from the Happy Times paper collection from Close To My Heart. I was inspired by Melanie Brown from Courtney Lane Designs to use this Cricut cut with the doves and heart. It came from the Photo Booth Props cartridge. I never would have guessed an image like this would be on that cartridge! At any rate, it’s perfect for an anniversary card!
The second card is made with the Penelope paper collection from Close To My Heart. I embossed the background with a hexagon embossing folder. The towel images came from the Sweethearts cartridge. The “Happy Anniversary” sentiment I used on both cards came from a retired Close To My Heart stamp set.

The challenge this week at Bitten by the Bug 2 is to create a Mother’s Day project using a vase or bouquet of flowers. I decided to make a card with 3D flowers from the Art Philosophy cartridge by Close To My Heart. I love to make these flowers! It gives me a little thrill each time I roll up those spirals of flat paper and POOF they become a beautiful and fairly realistic flower! Don’t judge–I’m just easily amused!
I used paper from the Zoe collection by Close To My Heart along with Crystal Blue cardstock. The flowers were made with Canary, Thistle, Pixie, and Smoothie cardstock. The flower pitcher cut is from Country Life and I embossed it with the CTMH Scallop embossing folder. A simple Pixie twine bow was all it needed for embellishment since the flowers are the stars of the show.
