Kid’s Valentines

Posted on

CreHello, Friends!

I bet almost everyone will need a Valentine card for a child very soon and that’s what we are creating at Bitten by the Bug 2 this week.  I created these bobble head valentine cards for some special kids from Create a Critter (lion), Boys Will Be Boys (frog) and Artistry (heart border).   I cut the images apart and popped the heads with a spring so they bobble and wobble all around!  I think they are pretty darn cute!

You can find a lot more Valentines for Children at the Bitten by the Bug 2 blog.  Check them out!  Then create your own valentine cards nd link them up for everyone to enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by today!    Laurie

MCCR Design Team–Masculine Cards with Embossing

Posted on

Welcome to another My Cricut Craft Room Design Team project!

My task for today was to create a masculine card using embossing folders.  So I decided to make one for a man and one for a young boy!  I dug up some old paper with a distressed feel for the first card and cut tag shapes from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge by Close To My Heart.  The tags were embossed with 3 different embossing folders and my Cuttlebug.  I used a distressed stripe, a plaid, and a star folders. I like the look of embossing even on patterned paper!  I attached the tags to the front of the gate fold card and embellished with twine and some metal gear brads.

The second card was created with a cute truck image and sentiment from the Boys Will Be Boys Cricut cartridge and paper from the Echo Park “Little Boy” collection.  I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug folder that coordinates with the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge.  I love the bright, primary colors of this card and the simplicity of the design!

Baby’s First Airplane Ride

Posted on

Recently my son and his family made a cross country move.  My grandson, his mother and his other grandma flew to their new home.  Everyone was a little nervous as to how this 5 month old little guy would do on the plane, but apparently he did very well.  He was quite interested in looking at all the new sights on the airplane and I especially love the picture of him looking out the airplane window!  I used My Mind’s Eye Collectable paper and embellishments for this simple layout and cut the airplane shape from the Boys Will Be Boys Cricut cartridge.  I gave the airplane a distressed look with some Close to My Heart Chocolate ink.  The title “Just Plane Cute” was from the Cricut Cutting Up cartridge.

Have a wonderful day!   Laurie
