It’s Baby Week at Bitten by the Bug 2! We are celebrating all things babies from cards to layouts and everything in between. And boy, do I have a baby to share! My new grandson was born on December 29 and here is one of my first scrapbook layouts to celebrate this new little sweetie.
I used retired Georgie paper from Close To My Heart along with Peacock, Canary and Juniper cardstock. The Cricut cuts are from Wild Card, Flower Market and Artbooking. On the right side of the layout I layered the coordinating Picture My Life cards behind the photos. The journaling block is another PML card.

It’s a brand new year and time for a brand new challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2! This week we are celebrating all things NEW and boy, do I have the perfect new thing in my life–a new grandson! He was born on December 29 and I spent part of my New Year’s Eve rocking with that little sweetie! It was the perfect way to ring in the New Year!
I used paper from the Whimsy Fundamentals collection by Close To My Heart to create this layout. The Cricut cuts are from several cartridges–Artbooking, Flower Market, Graphically Speaking and Phrases. I embellished with a few enamel arrows and called it good. I think I have the perfect photo already to complete this layout!
Now it’s time for you to get your craft on and create your own projects featuring something NEW! Link it up at Bitten by the Bug 2 for everyone to enjoy!
I am so pleased to announce my October Scrapbook Workshop featuring the new Swan Lake paper collection! At first I wasn’t all that crazy about this paper pack, but after taking it out of the bag and working with it to make these layouts, my mind has certainly been changed!! I really love it now! Take a look–
These layouts were made with just one Swan Lake paper pack and one set of Swan Lake complements. Add a few Cricut cuts, a little Poppy Thick Twine and photo mats from coordinating cardstock and there you have it–layouts perfect for Thanksgiving or any family themed photos!
I would be happy to make a set of layouts for you for only $23.00!
I will cut all the parts and pieces so all you need to do is assemble. You can attend my open house style workshop (Saturday, October 29 from 9:00 to 5:00 or Sunday, October 30 from 1:00 to 5:00) to make the layouts or I can mail you a kit of all three layouts for an additional $5.00. If you want to attend the October workshop, I would need to have your RSVP by October 18th so I have time to order and prepare the materials. Email, call or message me for any details!

I spent the weekend in my craft room making all kinds of Halloween cards! I love how the papers, colors and images from Halloween can go from spooky to cute and everything in between. This month I’ll be sharing some of those Halloween cards–mostly cute!!
This card is one I made for a recent card swap. I used Close To My Heart cardstock and ink in Pansy, Emerald, Slate, and Willow and Tangerine. The Cricut cuts are from Artbooking and the stamped images are from the new Halloween stamp set called Monster Crossing.
You can purchase the supplies to make this card by shopping HERE. Plus check out the awesome Stamp of the Month that you can only get during October!
Thanks for stopping by today! You are AWESOME!! Laurie
This week at Bitten by the Bug 2 the theme is APPLES! I was excited to see this challenge since Autumn has a special apple memory for me and I was happy to have a reason to document that memory on a scrapbook page. Every Autumn I have to make several batches of Apple Cake with Caramel Sauce, a recipe that came from my Grandma. She passed away when I was only 14 years old, so this cake always makes me think of her.
I used some Authentique paper and embellishments from my stash, and the apple Cricut cuts are from Artbooking and Classroom–August and September. I manipulated the images in Design Space, making an apple frame and apple border. The apple that was cut inside the frame became another embellishment on the page. The lace embellishments remind me of an apron that my grandma might have worn back in the day.
I plan to place a copy of the Apple Cake recipe behind the apple photo frame so that whomever gets this scrapbook when I am gone will see how important it was to me and they can even make the yummy cake too! Doesn’t it look good?
Please visit the Bitten by the Bug 2 site to see the other projects created by my talented design team sisters. Then get your Cricuts busy creating your own APPLE projects to share with all of us! We love to see what everyone has to share! Laurie
