I have been tucked away for several days working on the Through the Year Calendar Kit and some coordinating scrapbook pages. This kit was the Close To My Heart special for December, but luckily we just found out that it is still available, but only while supplies last! So if you were on the fence about purchasing this kit in December, you have another chance!
I made the calendar pages exactly as they were shown in the kit with just a couple of minor tweaks. I then used ideas from my up-line, Noreen Petty to design a coordinating scrapbook page for each month. That way I can add photos to each month’s calendar page and when the month is over, I will have a two page scrapbook layout for each month. In the photos below, the left side of the layouts are from the calendar kit and the right side is my coordinating scrapbook page. Here are the first six months:
If you like the looks of these layouts and would like to make them yourself, you are in luck! The Through the Year calendar kit is still available and you can purchase it HERE. If you want to make the coordinating scrapbook pages, you will need about half a pack of Basics Fundamentals paper, a few pieces of cardstock, 12 white pages for the background and a sheet of gold glitter paper. I would be happy to share my Design Space file for the extra Cricut cuts. Just let me know!
Thanks for stopping by today! Check back tomorrow to see the remaining six months of calendar/layout pages. Laurie
The challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 this week is SNOW! Unfortunately there has been way too much snow and cold in our country lately, but on a positive note, the weather sure fits our challenge! I’m sure many of you have taken lots of snow photos that will need a scrapbook page to live on, so let’s get crafting about SNOW!
I created this one page layout with cuts from Lacy Labels (snowflake frame), Anna’s Winter Wonderland (deer) and Artbooking (title). I embellished with lots of silver and gold glitter paper as well as silver and gold metallic paper, both from Close To My Heart. The background papers were from my stash. Photos never do glitter and shine much justice, so you will have to believe me when I say it is quite beautiful in real life!
Hop on over to Bitten by the Bug 2 to see the other design team projects all about SNOW! Then please link up your own projects for everyone to enjoy! Time in your craft room with a cup of hot tea would be a great way to spend these cold winter days!

Paper crafting is so much fun, especially at Christmas! I love to make handmade gifts for my friends and family and there are so many great ideas out there from which to choose. So I was happy to see the challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 this week which is all about Gifts and Gift Boxes/Bags! I found a video showing how to make this awesome woven snowflake and you can view it HERE.
I used Beary Christmas paper from Close To My Heart to make my snowflake. You definitely need double sided paper for this project. The embellishment was cut from the Artbooking cartridge along with circles from Cricut Basics Shapes
