This week at Heart 2 Heart, we are celebrating FIESTA style and the challenge is to create a project with a fiesta theme. For my design team project, I created a layout using the new Prickly Pear paper collection and Complements from Close To My Heart. I added a couple of southwestern cuts from the Fiesta Cricut cartridge. A sprinkling of Prickly Pear sequins added a bit of sparkle to the bright, beautiful colors in this paper collection.
Be sure to stop by Heart 2 Heart to see the other design team projects with a FIESTA theme. Then we would love it if you’d play along and share your artwork with us!
My husband and I celebrated our 30th Anniversary this week! How quickly time passes when you spend it with a really fabulous person. I don’t have enough words to describe how awesome he is!!
Of course, I had to make him an anniversary card so I got out the Jack paper pack and the new Jack Cardmaking Thin Cuts and Stamp set bundle. What an awesome paper pack for all your masculine projects! And the cute little bear will be useful for so many things–think little boy birthdays, Father’s Day, camping/outdoor layouts and so much more!
Here are a couple of pictures of Dave and me on the beach in Destin, Florida. We flew here yesterday to visit our son, his wife and our two grandsons. Last night they took us out for an anniversary dinner at a restaurant on the water. PERFECT!!
Thanks for stopping by today! If you need any of the products I used to make my card, you can find them all HERE. I certainly appreciate your business!! Laurie
This week at Bitten by the Bug 2 we are celebrating BIRTHDAYS! I chose to get out my new Little Dreamer Paper and Cardmaking Thin Cuts bundle for the first time to make this cute birthday card for a little girl. I used the Artistry and Artbooking cartridges from Close To My Heart to make the birthday sentiment on the front of the card.
The card design is a center panel step fold and I found the directions on Pinterest. I thought the center panel would be the perfect way to feature that adorable unicorn! What little girl doesn’t love unicorns? Everyone needs birthday cards to have on hand, so here is your chance to replenish your supply! And while you’re at it, link up those cards at Bitten by the Bug 2 to share with everyone!
Thanks for stopping by today! Something WONDERFUL is about to happen!! Laurie
The challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart is to use RIBBON on a project. I chose to use the brand new Little Dreamer paper collection for my card. I think the diagonal rainbow pattern is just perfect as the background. I used one of the Picture My Life cards for the sentiment panel and stamped the word LOVE from the Hello Lovely Scrapbooking stamp set (retired). I added layers of Lagoon cardstock and of course, a bow made from Blossom ribbon from the Whimsy collection.
Please stop by Heart 2 Heart and check out the other design team projects. I can tell you there is some really awesome artwork there! You are always welcome and encouraged to link up your own projects using RIBBON this week because we love it when you share!
I am happy to be the host for this week’s challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2. As a former teacher, I always keep the school schedule in the back of my mind, so I thought it would be fun to create projects this week with school in mind. So, get your die cutting machines running and make some projects to celebrate a graduation, the end of the school year, or even a thank you card for a teacher!
I needed graduation cards for two of my nephews–one from high school in Pennsylvania and one from the University of Nebraska. I found this great step card SVG file from Lori Whitlock and thought it would be perfect to spell out the word GRAD on the inside. The graduation paper and some of the embellishments came from Doodlebug. Silver metallic paper accents make this card really pop!
Take a look at the other design team projects at Bitten by the Bug 2 this week and then please link up your projects! We love to see your awesome artwork!
I hope all you moms out there had a fabulous Mother’s Day! Be awesome today–Laurie
The new Live Beautifully paper collection that Close To My Heart created for National Scrapbooking Month is full of roses, peonies, pinks and purples. Girly paper, right? Right, except not entirely! Most of my scrapbooking is about boys and men, so I decided to see if I could come up with some more masculine layouts from this “girly” paper.
For the first layout, I used the gold embossed polka dot paper as the background. I added cuts from the Flower Market Cricut cartridge by Close To My Heart to make a layout suitable for a graduation or other accomplishment.
The second layout has the blue/green ombre as background papers with Chocolate and Lagoon cardstock accents. The colors, the Flower Market images and the touch of burlap ribbon work together to give this a masculine flair. This layout would be perfect for some travel or “outdoorsy” photos.
The final layout has a nautical feel with the cute sailboat and anchors, also from Flower Market. I used the black and white striped paper as the background and then lots of bright colors from the Adventure palette and a bit of Lagoon ribbon. I can see Father’s Day photos on this layout!
So what do you think–can Live Beautifully be used for masculine layouts too? I certainly think so and can’t wait to get some photos of my guys on these layouts!
You can get your own set of the Live Beautifully paper by ordering HERE! Thanks you very much! Laurie
