A few months ago when I was in Florida with my son and his family, my three year old grandson discovered a big stick in the yard after a storm. He had such a good time poking and prodding and reaching with that stick. I took a few candid shots of his investigations and decided that the Dreamin’ Big paper by Close To My Heart would be the perfect paper to use to scrapbook these cute photos.
A series of paper strips of various widths provides the background for the photos. Using the black background really sets off all the colors of the papers and photos. I also used a couple of the Picture My Life cards included in the paper collection as well as some of the Dreamin’ Big Complements.
It’s so easy to create with Close To My Heart papers and coordinating embellishments since all the colors and styles fit together seamlessly. There’s no searching through my stash anymore to try to find papers and embellishments that may or may not fit together. CTMH makes my crafting so much easier!!
The Dreamin’ Big paper collection will retire in just a couple of days so don’t miss out on this wonderful paper pack suitable for so many events and situations. Shop HERE to get all of your CTMH goodies! Thanks very much! Laurie

This week the challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 is to use a spring flower Cricut cut. Well, I immediately thought of tulips since they are blooming in full glory in my garden right now. However, I also love daffodils, so that’s what I decided to use for my design team project. I chose cuts from Flower Market by Close To My Heart to make this cheerful Mother’s Day card.
The paper is from the Dreamin’ Big paper collection, also from Close To My Heart. I accented the papers with Juniper and Sea Glass cardstock and added a ribbon from my ribbon stash.
If you love spring flowers as much as I do, you need to stop over to Bitten by the Bug 2 to see the other design team projects! Then link up your own projects for us all to enjoy. We love it when you share!
Thanks for stopping by today! Don’t forget to stop and enjoy the beautiful spring flowers this week! Laurie
At Heart 2 Heart this week the challenge is All Creatures Great and Small. I decided to pull out a stamp set called Circus Birthday (B1533) from the Annual Inspirations catalog that I had never used. It has some very cute creatures that I think fit this challenge perfectly!
I used the Some Kinda Wonderful paper collection to make this cute birthday card for a child, or a child at heart! The cute little tiger image is colored with Shin Han markers. I love how the black cardstock really sets off the vibrant colors of this paper collection. Bet you just can’t help but smile!
Please stop over to the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog and see the other projects made by the Design Team about All Creatures Great and Small. Then link up your own artwork for everyone to enjoy!

I know a sweet little boy who will be celebrating his first birthday very soon! He is the grandson of a good friend of mine. His birthday party has a whale theme, so I started my card by looking for whales in Design Space. I found a “ready to make” whale card, but I didn’t care for the whale it had. So I just removed it and found a different whale that I thought was a whole lot cuter.
I tucked the whale between the two wave layers and attached the water spray to a piece of acetate so it really makes the water “spout”. The second whale serves two purposes–an image and a sentiment. I love how it all came together and the wiggle eyes add the perfect final touch!I hope you have a “whale of a time” today!! Laurie
