Masculine Cards Using Old CTMH Products

Hello, Friends!

Since the new Close To My Heart paper packs came out on August 1, everyone (including me) has been so excited about using them.  But while I was organizing some of my materials, I came across the 6×6 paper pack sampler from the previous catalog that I received in April when I became a consultant.  I immediately felt sorry for them!  It’s not their fault their paper lines have been retired!  So I decided to challenge myself to make a few cards using those sample papers.

For the birthday card I used Timberline paper along with Chocolate, Goldrush, and Colonial White cardstock.  I stamped the cupcakes from the Cutie Pie set (December, 2014 Stamp of the Month) in Honey ink as a background for the sentiment.  On top of the cupcakes I stamped with Desert Sand ink and then heat embossed a sentiment from the Cricut Artiste Birthday Collection.  The top note shape was cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  The sentiment on the inside of the card was from the Just A Number set.  As a final masculine touch, I added antique gold Triangle Studs at the corners of the card.

For the second card I used sample papers from Jubilee and Skylark along with White Daisy and Chocolate cardstock.  I stamped the Hello sentiment from the Artiste Collection Word Balloons set in Desert Sand ink.  Again, I embellished with antique gold Triangle Studs and Hemp Baker’s Twine.  I received the Hopscotch Alphabet stamp set with my consultant kit and hadn’t used it yet, so I decided to stamp out the “feel better soon” message on the inside of the card in Desert Sand ink.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Laurie
