Layout from a Pattern!

Hello, Friends!

When I make a scrapbook layout, I rarely use an idea book.  I look at the photos I have, the papers and embellishments I want to use and just start scrapping.  That might be why a lot of my layouts start to look the same LOL!!

Today I decided to use a  layout pattern from the new Make it From Your Heart (Volume 3) idea book from Close to My Heart.  I chose to make Layout 2 which I thought would accommodate the 3 photos I wanted to include in my layout.  Here is a picture of a sample layout from the book that uses that pattern:

And here is the layout that I made using this pattern:

I definitely plan to get out my Make it From Your Heart idea book more often!  While I tend to add quite a few embellishments and fill up most of the empty space on my layouts, using the patterns for a basic plan works quite well.  Close To My Heart has several great idea books for layouts and cards.  You can check them out HERE.

What kind of scrapper are you?  Do you use layout sketches or photos or just wing it on your own?

Thanks for stopping by today!   Remember that something WONDERFUL is always about to happen!    Laurie

  1. Fabulous layout! I love the papers you chose too. I usually wing it, but often follow some of the principles of design that Debbie Hodge at Get It Scrapped teaches. I have learned a lot from her and love to follow her general suggestions. 🙂

We'd love to hear from you!
