Today at Bitten by the Bug 2 we are celebrating Cookies! Check out the cute artwork from the other Design Team members honoring this most important iconic food. So important that I believe Cookies should have their own spot on the Food Pyramid!
I took a little different slant for this challenge–gingerbread houses and gingerbread men. They are cookies, right? I used paper from the White Pines collection by Close To My Heart along with Fern, Cranberry, Chocolate and Colonial White cardstock. The gingerbread man came from Jolly Holidays and the gingerbread house came from the Create a Critter 2 cartridge.
As you can see, this is not your typical layout featuring a cute gingerbread house. This layout has the air of mystery about it! Every year my good friend Anne invites us over to make gingerbread houses. I love these houses and just hate to throw them away when the Christmas decorations come down. So I usually store them in the unfinished basement of my old house and hope they will survive until the next Christmas. Well, this one did NOT survive! I discovered the house with all the gingerbread walls eaten by mice! The roof was sitting askance on the foundation along with quite a few mouse droppings inside. Funny thing, they didn’t touch the gumdrops!!
Needless to say after a good long laugh and a mini photo shoot, we bought a bunch of mouse traps! And as soon as I heard about the Cookie theme for BBTB2 this week, I knew I had the perfect subject–a memory is a memory, right?
