Welcome to another Design Team project for Heart 2 Heart Challenges! This week the theme is Rewind–Use any past H2H Challenge. A couple of weeks ago, the theme was to use watercolors and since I really need to practice on my watercolor painting, I thought why not give it a go? I used two Close To My Heart stamp sets, Sing Glory (a retired Hostess Rewards stamp) and Christ is Born from the Seasonal Expressions catalog. I also used Pacifica, Gypsy and White Daisy cardstock from Close To My Heart.
I first applied the Watercolors to damp watercolor paper in various shades of purple and blue, trying my best to blend the colors for an ombre look. I dried the paper with my heat tool then stamped the angel and sentiment in Versamark ink. After sprinkling on silver embossing powder, I again used my heat tool to melt the embossing powder and give it a shiny, glossy surface. It is a bit hard to see this in the photo, but it really is quite beautiful! I mounted the painted image on White Daisy cardstock and adhered it to my background of layered Gypsy and Pacifica cardstock. The final touch was to add a few silver sequins because you always have to have a little bling, right?
I also heat embossed the sentiment for the inside of the card in silver to match the front. This will be a great card for mailing since it is not too thick and bulky. I wonder who will get this special card this Christmas?!!
