It’s Monday and time for another Heart 2 Heart Challenge! This week the theme is Good Day Sunshine and boy is that appropriate for the hot, muggy weather we have been having here in Nebraska lately. Check out the H2H Challenges blog to see the wonderful “sunshiny” projects created by the other Design Team members. Visit their blogs and leave a comment–everyone needs a little blog love now and then!
I created my own background paper for this card by randomly stamping two different sun images in Canary pigment ink, sprinkling them with clear embossing powder, and embossing with my heat tool. This gave a nice glossy, yet subtle background for the card sentiment panel that I cut from the new Artistry Cricut cartridge by Close To My Heart. I was so excited to find a sunburst type image in Artistry! I stretched it a little in Design Space to fit the “Hello Sunshine” from the Rain or Shine stamp set that I used for the sentiment on the front.
I think Crystal Blue, White Daisy and Canary were the perfect colors to complement the design of this card along with a bit of gold shimmer trim peeking through the border at the bottom. I’m planning to send this card to a friend who is struggling with some health problems and I hope it will add a little sunshine to her day!
Spread a little sunshine to those around you today! Laurie
