My husband and son went to the Nebraska football game this afternoon so I was alone most of the day. What’s a girl to do on a cold, icy day but get in my craft room and start making Christmas cards? LOL! I recently made a goal to use up paper from a few paper packs that I have had for quite awhile. So I grabbed this cute reindeer paper from a My Mind’s Eye pack and went to work!
I have also been thinking about making some Christmas cards using non-traditional colors, so this was a perfect time to give that a try. You usually don’t see brown and white on a Christmas card, but I love the simple elegance of this design. The gold accents make it look even more festive.
For the sentiment I used a stamp from the White Pines Scrapbook on the Go kit from Close To My Heart. I stamped it in Versamark ink, added gold embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool to make it shiny and elegant. I then double matted the sentiment panel with metallic gold and Cocoa brown paper and added a gold embellished ribbon accent.
I really need to get busy making my Christmas cards because the holidays will be here before I can blink twice! I think this design is a keeper and I can use it with more old paper from my stash!
Remember great things are just around the corner! Laurie
