Today I’m sharing a wedding card I made with the Thin Cut/stamp set called Hello Lovely Cardmaking Bundle from Close To My Heart. I challenged myself to only use two colors for this card–red and white. First I used the Thin Cuts and my Cuttlebug to cut out the shapes. Then I stamped the matching images in Versamark on Cranberry cardstock, sprinkled on white embossing and used my heat tool to melt the powder. This made the images quite crisp and clear on the red cardstock.
I adhered the stamped images onto a background of embossed hearts and added a red ribbon with white hearts as embellishment. I think this makes quite an elegant card for a wedding.
I’m excited to use this Hello Lovely Thin Cut/Stamp set again very soon! Check out a picture of the set below. The images outlined in blue are those with a matching Thin Cut. For more information or to purchase this awesome set, click HERE!
Thanks for stopping by today! Do something AWESOME!! Laurie
Yesterday I shared a few cards that I made with the November Stamp of the Month called New Year’s Wishes that were NOT related to New Year’s events. While writing that blog post, I thought of another way to use the snowflake stamps on that set and here is the result. A random stamped and heat embossed background and sentiment in non traditional holiday colors!
Since one of the latest challenges at Heart 2 Heart was to create a holiday project using non-traditional colors (no red or green), I decided to link up this card to share. Check out their blog and the other great projects!
Take a look at the sketch above from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge! The next card I made using the November Stamp of the Month was based on this sketch so I am entering it in their challenge. I was pretty ambivalent about the colors while I was making this card, but it turned out to be one of my favs! Check out my previous blog post for more ideas on using the SOTM for non New Year’s creations and visit Atlantic Hearts for even more creative inspiration!
I used the gray side of the Uptown Fundamentals paper along with Slate ink, Whisper cardstock and the Slate polka dot ribbon that coordinates with the Uptown papers. Won’t it make a great wedding or anniversary card? Just change up the sentiment on the inside to fit your occasion!

Today I’d like to showcase the November Stamp of the Month called “New Year’s Cheer.” Scroll down to see a photo of the stamp set. Of course this stamp has many images and sentiments that are just perfect for cards and layouts relating to New Year’s events. But I wanted to show you how this stamp is NOT just for New Year’s! Remember you can purchase this stamp set for only $5.00 with any $50.00 Close To My Heart purchase.
First I made a birthday card with Jeepers Creepers paper. I heat embossed some of the images with white embossing powder and added some white enamel stars. I think it makes quite a classy and colorful card for a special birthday greeting!
Next I made a wedding card with this same New Year’s Wishes Stamp of the Month. I used the gray side of the patterned paper in the Uptown Fundamentals collection. Adding a sentiment stamped in Slate ink, a strip of Whisper cardstock and the coordinating Slate polka dot ribbon created a surprisingly nice monochromatic color design for my card!
Finally, I made another birthday card with this same stamp set. I used Swan Lake paper, a Picture My Life style card from the Swan Lake paper pack and the banner stamps to create a festive birthday greeting.
I hope you can now look at the November Stamp of the Month and see that it is much more than just a New Year’s themed stamp! I actually thought of another way to use this stamp as I was writing this post–I’ll try to make it and share tomorrow!
Until then, thanks for stopping by and make it a wonderful day! Laurie
This week at Heart 2 Heart we are focusing on UPTOWN–the new paper fundamentals from Close To My Heart, the “uptown” area of a city or even a song with an “uptown” theme. I chose to use the Uptown Paper Fundamentals to create a classy wedding card embellished with lots of gold!
The stamped sentiments on the front and inside of the card came from the stamp set Wedding Wishes and the wreath image is from a new stamp set called Wreath. I heat embossed the stamped images with gold embossing powder.
Stop by the Heart 2 Heart blog to see the projects made by the other design team members. Then link up your own artwork with the Uptown theme for everyone to enjoy!
Be sure to make someone SMILE today! Laurie

Here are a couple more cards that I made with Sea Glass, the Close To My Heart Color of the Year. The wedding card has a Sea Glass background embossed with the Confetti embossing folder. I used Black and Gold for accent colors and made a series of banners with coordinating ribbons and shimmer trim.
For the next two cards, I used some cuts from the new Flower Market Cricut cartridge by Close To My Heart to create a jar of flowers. I love the lacy trim that you can add to the jar which gives it that shabby chic vibe. The background is embossed with the new Simple Chevron embossing folder. Stamping different sentiments allows this card to be used for many occasions.
Isn’t Sea Glass wonderful? Shop HERE to get your Close To My Heart products.

I know I say this all the time about Close To My Heart paper, BUT…one of my very favorite collections is CHARLOTTE! This paper retired with the first Seasonal Expression last spring, but I had a little left over and decided to play with it again last week. I think this paper is perfect for making projects for weddings and anniversaries.
The first card is made entirely with the Charlotte Complements on a background of subtle floral pattern paper. I loved the sentiment on the right side and then just layered different arrows, a heart and a flower to accent.
This card has one of the PML style cut-aparts as the focal point on the black and white background. I added a zip strip on the side and then layered on some flowers. I used the Springtime Wishes Thin Cuts and coordinating stamp set to create the flowers. They are colored with our Shin Han alcohol markers.
Stop back again tomorrow to see two more cards made with the beautiful Charlotte paper collection by Close To My Heart. So sad it is retired, but so happy I have a little bit left! Laurie
