Easter is just around the corner, but there is still time to make some Easter projects! The challenge this week at Bitten by the Bug 2 is to create an Easter themed project. I made this cute bunny card from the Winter Woodland cartridge and the Hope collection from Authentique.
I absolutely love this paper and its vintage vibe. I added lots of inking around the papers and Cricut cuts to continue the rustic feel. For the inside sentiment, I used one of the coordinating elements from the paper collection.
Please join us at Bitten by the Bug 2 to see the other design team projects and then link up your own artwork! There are so many fun Easter cuts and we can’t wait to see what you make!

Today I’m sharing a wedding card I made with the Thin Cut/stamp set called Hello Lovely Cardmaking Bundle from Close To My Heart. I challenged myself to only use two colors for this card–red and white. First I used the Thin Cuts and my Cuttlebug to cut out the shapes. Then I stamped the matching images in Versamark on Cranberry cardstock, sprinkled on white embossing and used my heat tool to melt the powder. This made the images quite crisp and clear on the red cardstock.
I adhered the stamped images onto a background of embossed hearts and added a red ribbon with white hearts as embellishment. I think this makes quite an elegant card for a wedding.
I’m excited to use this Hello Lovely Thin Cut/Stamp set again very soon! Check out a picture of the set below. The images outlined in blue are those with a matching Thin Cut. For more information or to purchase this awesome set, click HERE!

Today is my grandson’s third birthday! He lives near the ocean in Florida so a Pirate themed birthday card and party was perfect for him! When he was just a few months old, his nickname was Captain Finley because he sometimes used to slightly close one eye, giving us the “pirate eye”.
These are the invitations for his pirate themed birthday party that will be held next weekend. I used a bunch of different images that I found on Design Space when I searched for “pirates”. That’s just one of the many things I love about Design Space!
The following photos are of Finley’s birthday card. I made a tri fold shutter card, again with the pirate theme. The paper is from Echo Park called Pirate’s Life and the cardstock is from Close To My Heart. I love to make this type of card since it has a lot of options for embellishments and it can stand on its own for display.
What a blessing it was to witness the pure joy and excitement of a little boy turning three! I’m so lucky to be spending time with my son and his family this winter, even though I don’t have quite as much time to play with my paper!
Thanks for stopping by today! I so appreciate you!! Laurie
Today I’m introducing my new Sugar Rush Layout Kit!! I’m a little late in getting this month’s kit completed since I’ve chosen to rock a newborn or play with my toddler grandson instead of crafting at times!! Plus I’m trying to get used to my “mobile” craft room that moved from Nebraska to Florida.
So here it is–the beautiful Sugar Rush paper collection is the perfect paper to showcase photos of your loved ones, Valentine photos, new baby photos, wedding pictures and so much more!! Inspiration for these layouts came from Pinterest and CTMH corporate samples, but I put my own spin and variations on each.
You can order a precut kit with all the embellishments by contacting me at firstname.lastname@example.org or leaving a message here on the blog. Cost of the 4 double page layouts is only $32.00 plus postage. I will let you know the cost of postage when you order. Payment can be made through PayPal.
I hope you enjoy my layout designs–they were very fun to make and the paper was super fun to work with!
Thanks for stopping by–do something AWESOME every day! Laurie
Elvis’ birthday was January 8 so this week at Bitten by the Bug 2 we are channeling our inner Elvis to create a project inspired by an Elvis song or movie!! Sounds like fun, right? One of my favorite Elvis songs is “Return to Sender” so that was my inspiration for this postage themed Valentine’s Day card.
I cut the images for the front of the card from the French Manor cartridge and the stamp image for the inside came from Sentimentals. The paper is all from the Enchantment Fundamentals collection by Close To My Heart. I thought the word search type paper would be perfect for my letter themed card!
Now it’s your turn to create your own Elvis inspired project! Have a favorite Elvis song or movie or do you have pictures from an Elvis impersonator or a trip to Graceland? Make a project and share with us at Bitten by the Bug 2! You might even win a box of Cricut supplies and cartridges! Details are on the BBTB2 blog.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your New Year is off to a fabulous start! Laurie
Close To My Heart has a great promotion this month called It’s the Little Things. It is a collection of mini album bundles for 30% off the regular retail price! There are several options to fit your memory keeping needs.
I think these would be a great gift for a beginning scrap booker or young person interested in paper crafting since all the components you need to complete an album are included. It would also be the perfect way to keep the photos from a particular event like a baby shower or birthday party. The 2 x 2 and 4 x 4 Memory Protectors make it easy to print and save your Instagram photos. The possibilities are endless!
