Picture Perfect at Heart 2 Heart!

Posted on

Hello, Friends!

The theme at Heart 2 Heart this week is Picture Perfect.  It sure had me stumped for awhile until I decided to just settle for a scrapbook page full of “picture perfect” photos.  But then I remembered the photo frame scrapbook page overlay from Artbooking and I was off to my craft room!

Here is what the frame looked like when I loaded it into Design Space.  I chose to cut it from the arrow print Adventures Fundamentals paper (retired) so adding other arrows from Artistry and Flower Market were the perfect embellishments.  I also like the contrast of the black and white photos with the bright colors of the layout.

Here is a link to the Design Space file if you are interested in making this layout yourself.  You do need to own the CTMH cartridges in order to cut the images.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Please head over to Heart 2 Heart Challenges to see the other design team projects.  Then create your own Picture Perfect artwork and link it up for everyone to enjoy!  Have a wonderful week!

Halloween Tri-Fold Shutter Cards!

Hello Friends!

Just stopping by for a minute to share a couple of Halloween tri-fold shutter cards.  These are another type of fancy fold cards that I like to experiment with making.  They fold flat to fit in an envelope for mailing, but also stand up to make a nice display piece!

I used some Halloween paper from my substantial stash (no, I’m not a hoarder!) and had fun decorating these cards with all kinds of stickers and cutouts.  Fun, fun, fun!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy these Halloween cuties!    Laurie

Time for Halloween Fun!

Hello Friends!

As quickly as October is already flying by, Halloween will be here before we blink twice!  So we better enjoy a little Halloween cuteness before it’s too late!

These box cards are so much fun to make and they fold flat to fit into an envelope for mailing.  I bought a single image on Design Space to cut the base of the card and the patterned paper decorative pieces.

I used some Teresa Collins paper that I found in my Halloween box to decorate these box cards.  It’s so fun to look at all the stickers and cutouts available with a paper pack and then fit them together like a puzzle to create n pleasing design!

Have you been Halloween crafting yet?  While Halloween is not my favorite holiday, there sure are some great Halloween papers and other goodies that make some fun crafts!   Have a wonderful, spooky day!    Laurie

My Favorite Things–Part 3

Hello Friends!

Today I’m sharing another of my favorite items from the new Annual Inspirations catalog–CARDSTOCK!!  Why would I be excited about plain old cardstock?  Well, this new cardstock is two sided!  One side is the regular color and the reverse side is the same color but just a little lighter.  I think this idea is brilliant!  Not only do you get the great original cardstock that cuts so well in the Cricut, but now you get TWO colors on each sheet of cardstock.  I love two for the price of one!!

Here are all the cardstock colors grouped in their color palettes–Whimsy, Adventure, Enchantment and Basics.  You can purchase packs of individual colors ($14.50 for 24 sheets) or assorted packs that contain two of each color in each color palettes ($14.50 for 20 sheets).  Shop HERE to purchase this fabulous cardstock or any other Close To My Heart products!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Tomorrow will be the last installment in the My Favorite Things series, so don’t miss out!   Laurie

My Favorite Things–Part 2

Hello Friends!

Yesterday I began a series of blog posts showing you some of my favorite products in the new Annual Inspirations catalog.  This catalog just went live on August first and boy, are there some goodies inside!  Here are a couple more of my favs–Isn’t this Sweet Baby Stamp and Thin Cuts Bundle just adorable?  I mean, look at that little elephant baby!  And the balloons and the awesome script on the word “baby”?

And here is a card I made for a little girl’s first birthday using this Sweet Baby set.  I used Bashful, the Color of the Year along with Bashful ink, pearls and glitter paper.

The next item on my favorites list is the Rose Embossing Folder.  I know it is very hard to see in the photo, but you should be able to see it very clearly in the cards I made below.

Isn’t that gold foil panel embossed with the Rose Folder beautiful?  I paired it with gold glitter paper, gold heat embossing on the sentiment and gold glitter gems.

For this card, I embossed a piece of Bashful cardstock and then lightly ran the Bashful ink pad over the raised areas to bring out the beautiful rose design.  I love this technique!  But I really love the Rose Embossing Folder and look forward to using it for many projects in the future!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for the next installment of My Favorite Things from the new Annual Inspirations catalog.  Make it an awesome day!   Laurie

Close To My Heart Cardstock is the BEST!!

Hello Friends!

I have been touting the benefits of Close To My Heart cardstock ever since I started using it a few years ago.  Now it is my EXCLUSIVE cardstock to use whenever I need to cut with my Cricut!

Since there is a 25% off sale on all CTMH cardstock during June, I thought it might be fun to do a little experiment to show you why I love this product for Cricut cutting so much!  I cut the same intricate peacock in brand name paper from another company and cardstock from Close To My Heart using the same mat and settings to compare.  Check out my results!

I think it’s pretty obvious from the photos of my “experiment” that Close To My Heart cardstock cuts extremely well in the Cricut.  If you want consistent, smooth, crisp cuts from your Cricut, even on intricate designs, then don’t waste your time and money on cheaper cardstock!  Use frustration-free Close To My Heart cardstock and get it for 25% off during the month of June!

Shop HERE to get your Close To My Heart products.  I sure appreciate your business!   Laurie
