The challenge this week at Bitten by the Bug 2 is to use an INSECT cut on your projects. Well, I have recently been playing with the Dreamin’ Big papers from Close To My Heart and it has a cute bug print paper, so that was my inspiration! There is a Thin Cut/Stamp set that goes with this paper, but I wasn’t able to purchase one before they sold out, so I went to my old friend, Design Space instead! And there are a lot of bugs on Design Space, let me tell you!
I chose insects from Garden Soup, Dinosaur Tracks and Potions and Spells to crawl up the side of my layout. I think they go great with the papers and the “totally boy” photos of my grandson. All the other embellishments are from the Dreamin’ Big Complements package. Unfortunately, this collection retired on April 30 and is no longer available.
For the right side of the layout, I chose flowers and the “explore” title to go with the photo of my grandson examining some early spring flowers. He seems to enjoy flowers as much as his grandma!
Stop over to Bitten by the Bug 2 and see the other design team projects with INSECT cuts! Then help us celebrate spring by sharing your own “buggy” projects!
Thanks for stopping by–make today awesome!! Laurie
A few months ago when I was in Florida with my son and his family, my three year old grandson discovered a big stick in the yard after a storm. He had such a good time poking and prodding and reaching with that stick. I took a few candid shots of his investigations and decided that the Dreamin’ Big paper by Close To My Heart would be the perfect paper to use to scrapbook these cute photos.
A series of paper strips of various widths provides the background for the photos. Using the black background really sets off all the colors of the papers and photos. I also used a couple of the Picture My Life cards included in the paper collection as well as some of the Dreamin’ Big Complements.
It’s so easy to create with Close To My Heart papers and coordinating embellishments since all the colors and styles fit together seamlessly. There’s no searching through my stash anymore to try to find papers and embellishments that may or may not fit together. CTMH makes my crafting so much easier!!
The Dreamin’ Big paper collection will retire in just a couple of days so don’t miss out on this wonderful paper pack suitable for so many events and situations. Shop HERE to get all of your CTMH goodies! Thanks very much! Laurie

I was lucky enough to attend a crop last Saturday and I worked hard to finish some layouts that have been “in progress” for quite a while. And by quite a while, I mean a couple of years! Please tell me I’m not the only one this happens to…
Earlier I had made a couple of single page layouts with the retired Blossom and Jackson paper packs showing pictures of my grandson when he was about 13 months old. So I was determined to finish up these layouts this weekend. Well, I needed a bit of time at home too, especially since I’m making two of each layout–one for me and one for my son and his family, but here they are!
