Today I’m sharing a Mother’s Day card I made for the Heart 2 Heart Challenges design team with the fabulous Live Beautifully paper collection from Close To My Heart. This paper is only available during the month of May for National Scrapbook Month and is just perfect for Mother’s Day!
I used the recently retired Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge to create the rose card base from Black cardstock. This cartridge is officially retired, but can still be purchased from the Going Soon section of the CTMH shopping site. I simply layered the beautiful rose print paper beneath the black base, added a sentiment panel and a bow of Black and Gold ribbon. Presto–a quick and easy, yet quite dramatic card for a special mother!
I hope you can stop by the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog to see the other design team projects with Roses. Lots of great inspiration for sure!

This week the challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 is to use a spring flower Cricut cut. Well, I immediately thought of tulips since they are blooming in full glory in my garden right now. However, I also love daffodils, so that’s what I decided to use for my design team project. I chose cuts from Flower Market by Close To My Heart to make this cheerful Mother’s Day card.
The paper is from the Dreamin’ Big paper collection, also from Close To My Heart. I accented the papers with Juniper and Sea Glass cardstock and added a ribbon from my ribbon stash.
If you love spring flowers as much as I do, you need to stop over to Bitten by the Bug 2 to see the other design team projects! Then link up your own projects for us all to enjoy. We love it when you share!
Thanks for stopping by today! Don’t forget to stop and enjoy the beautiful spring flowers this week! Laurie

This week at Heart 2 Heart Challenges we are playing with the Whimsy Fundamentals collection! I decided to make a Mother’s Day card since that holiday always seems to sneak up on me! Besides Whimsy paper, I used several Thin Cuts–Hearts and “love” along with glitter paper and a sweet bow.

Recently I was asked to create a Mother’s Day card for a contest sponsored by Paper Garden, a paper company located in Canada. They sent me a sample collection of some of their papers and it was really nice to work with! It is thicker than the Close To My Heart cardstock I like to use, so I needed to adjust my cut settings on the Explore so it would cut all the way through. I used some of their shimmery/pearlescent finish paper for my Mother’s Day card. It is hard to see in the photos, but the white background and the lavender layer on the roses are cut from this shimmery paper.
The corner rose cut came from the Quarter Note Cricut cartridge. I tweaked it a little in Design Space to add another layer. The sentiment came from Artiste by Close To My Heart. I think it makes a simple, yet elegant card and I know just the Mom who will receive this card!
This card will be entered into the contest where you can vote for your favorite entry on the Paper Garden website HERE. Of course, I would be honored to have your vote. (Insert blush here!) There are some nice prizes which will be given to each winner. Hop on over to their website, check out the entries and pick your favorite!
For a little fun, I added a couple pictures of my “cat assisted” photo shoot. Stella was a BIG help, let me tell you! But isn’t she pretty?
