My dad’s birthday was last weekend and he is an avid (that’s putting it mildly!) fisherman, so of course his card had to be related to fishing. For his card I used paper from the Rustic Home Fundamentals collection along with Chocolate cardstock and ink. The stamped images are from B1535 Hooked on You. I colored the fish with watercolor pencils and added some square metallic embellishments which are now retired.
The sentiment for the inside will soon adorn the majority of my future birthday cards because I think it is awesome! It’s called One in a Million (A1201) and is only $6.95! I will get lots of use from this one, I’m sure.

Today I’m sharing another birthday card suitable for a boy who loves sports–football in particular! The football player image is from the Create a Friend Cricut cartridge. The football is from the Sports Mania cartridge. I think it’s really fun to combine cuts from various cartridges and Design Space makes it so much easier!
I found the cute background paper in the Birthday Wishes stack from Die Cuts With a View. The big football is cut from Paper Fundamentals from Close To My Heart. This was perfect paper as it has a glossy embossed pattern that resembles the texture of a real football! The sentiments are also from Close To My Heart.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope your week is off to a fabulous start! Laurie
Last week my dad turned 80 years old–crazy, right?!! My dad is a huge fisherman–almost to the point of being obsessed if you get right down to it. He is also an expert fish fry chef and our whole family has been blessed with many a wonderful fish dinner over the years! So of course, his birthday card had to have a “fishing” theme!
I used some paper from the Authentique Suave collection for the background along with cardstock from Close To My Heart. The fish cut is from the Wild Card 2 Cricut cartridge and the sentiment inside is from Outdoor Man.
And now for a picture of the birthday boy–Happy 80th Birthday, Dad! Wishing you many more successful fishing adventures this year!
Remember that something wonderful is ALWAYS about to happen! Laurie

There are only a couple of weeks left to get the Hello Life stamp sets! This is a set of 3 exclusive C sized stamp sets that you can purchase for $13.95 each or all three for only $34.95–that’s a $6.90 savings! I was able to play with these stamps and some of our new colors to create a few cards. Enjoy!
This card uses the new colors of Pomegranate, Poppy, Saffron, Peacock, and Eggplant to stamp the paint streaks. I just love these new jewel tones!
I created a background strip using the cute chevron star shape from the Hello Life stamps and mounted it on a Poppy background layered on Peacock. It is hard to see in the picture, but I also used strips of the new Gold Foil Tape to accent the center panel.
For this card, I used the new Urban paper collection, the Ink Blot stamp set along with the Hello Life stamps.
Get your own Hello Life stamps now! They will be gone forever after the end of September! I can’t wait to create some more artwork with these versatile stamps!
Spread sunshine wherever you go today! Laurie
Welcome to another My Cricut Craft Room Design Team project!
My task for today was to create a masculine card using embossing folders. So I decided to make one for a man and one for a young boy! I dug up some old paper with a distressed feel for the first card and cut tag shapes from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge by Close To My Heart. The tags were embossed with 3 different embossing folders and my Cuttlebug. I used a distressed stripe, a plaid, and a star folders. I like the look of embossing even on patterned paper! I attached the tags to the front of the gate fold card and embellished with twine and some metal gear brads.
The second card was created with a cute truck image and sentiment from the Boys Will Be Boys Cricut cartridge and paper from the Echo Park “Little Boy” collection. I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug folder that coordinates with the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge. I love the bright, primary colors of this card and the simplicity of the design!
Have a great day! Laurie
Yesterday was my husband’s birthday, so I made this card for him. I used the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug folder to emboss the background, and cut the round shapes with the Cricut Artbooking cartridge. I used the Real Dial Size feature and cut the white shape at 2.25 inches and the blue one at 2.5 inches to create the layer. I inked the edge of the blue shape with some white pigment ink from Michael’s. I added gemstones from The Paper Studio, but they are not very shiny so I think they have a more masculine look to them. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed it with Opaque Embossing Powder in Ebony by Recollections. Linda
I am entering this card in 2 Sisters Challenge #173 Embossing.
