Thanksgiving “Anything Goes” at BBTB2!

Posted on

Hello Friends!

This week at Bitten by the Bug 2, ANYTHING GOES–at least if it relates to Thanksgiving!  You can make anything from cards, scrapbook layouts to home décor and table decorations, as long as it goes with Thanksgiving.

I have had my eye on these intricate Thanksgiving cuts which are included in the Make it Now section of Design Space.  I actually had my Middle School Crafting girls make the pumpkin pie box last week and they loved it!  I also loved that sweet little acorn so they both became my “Anything Goes” design team projects!

If you haven’t tried any of the Make it Now projects, I would suggest you do!  They are so easy–just click cut, put in your paper and you are ready to assemble.  You are still able to change the size or edit the project like you can with any of the Design Space cuts, but the beauty is that you don’t have to!

I think I’ll find a place on my Thanksgiving table to display my little paper beauties!  Please stop by Bitten by the Bug 2 to see the other design team projects.  Then share, share, share!  We love to see your projects too!

Thanks for stopping by!  Make it a GRATEFUL week and focus on those little moments that make life wonderful!    Laurie

Halloween Crafting with Grandma!

Posted on

Hello Friends!

I just returned from a 10 day visit with my son and his family in Destin, Florida.  While there, my almost three year old grandson and I made a Halloween craft.  We shopped for all the items and worked in stages to complete our creation.  What do you think?

I saw a similar project that was making the rounds on Facebook and that was our inspiration.  My grandson wanted to add the sparkly spiders and fall themed floral picks.  I think they add a lot!  Here is the original project:

We had so much fun making our pumpkin craft!  I hope he will remember the laughs we had and the sense of pride as he shared the craft with his parents and friends.  Love that little guy!  Enjoy a few pictures of our fun project.

Celebrating Halloween at BBTB2!

Posted on

Hello, Friends!

This week we welcome Halloween at Bitten by the Bug 2!  There is no end to the scary, cute, spooky or sweet themes for your Halloween projects, so let’s get crafting!  I chose to put together a Make it Now project from Design Space called Spooky Forest Dimensional Art.  These Make it Now projects are awesome!  Just click on CUT, place the correct colored paper on your mat and voila!

This project has many layers, but they were easy enough to assemble.  By using dimensional foam adhesive to attach each layer, the scene becomes three dimensional.

If you haven’t given any of the Make it Now projects a try yet, you really should!  Pick a Halloween project, fire up your Cricut and then link up your project at Bitten by the Bug 2!  We love it when you share your artwork!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I wish for you all a wonderful week!   Laurie

Home Décor Shadow Box Workshop

Posted on

Hello, Friends!

I have been playing around lately with the new Flower Market Cricut cartridge from Close To My Heart.  I love the three dimensional flowers on this cartridge and thought they would make some great home décor projects to display in my shadow box.

First I started with sunflowers on a twig wreath.  They are accented with some red berries and sprigs of leaves.  The background paper is from the Rustic Home Fundamentals paper collection.

The next project I made was for Halloween.  Flower Market has an amazing sugar skull image and they seem to be wildly popular right now!  I made several chrysanthemums from different shades of purple, a couple of black roses, and some orange succulents.

Then I thought I needed a Thanksgiving scene, so I dug out all kinds of cardstock in fall colors, cranked up my Explore again and here is the result.  A few leaves, asters, mums, acorns and bittersweet mounted on another Rustic Home woodgrain background and I was happy with the results!

Next up is a Christmas wreath complete with poinsettias and holly. Unfortunately the photo is not so great, but believe me, it’s pretty awesome too!  So is the Flower Market cartridge!!

I am offering all four of these home décor scenes AND the shadow box as a workshop for only $40.00!  Please contact me for details.  And if you need any Close To My Heart products, please shop HERE!

Have a wonderful day and try to do something AWESOME!   Laurie

Flower Market Home Décor

Hello Friends!

I made another home décor project with the new Flower Market Cricut cartridge by Close To My Heart–this time with a Thanksgiving theme!  The Autumn color palette is one of my favorites and the flowers on this cartridge are so awesome!

My goal is to have a decorated 12 x 12 page to place in my CTMH shadow box to coordinate with the seasons/holidays throughout the year.   So, I have now made a late summer, a Halloween, and now a Thanksgiving project.  Christmas is next!!

Here are the other pages I recently made.  I think they will make a fun and very easy home décor piece to display in my home.  Hmmm…they might even make a great Christmas gift too!

Halloween Décor with Flower Market

Posted on

Hello Friends!

Last week I shared a sunflower themed layout that I displayed in one of the retired shadow boxes from Close To My Heart.  I didn’t make a specific place for a photo since I plan to just use it as a home décor piece.  It is so easy to change out the layouts in this shadow box, so I decided to make more displays for various seasons and holidays throughout the year.  And just in time, the new Flower Market Cricut cartridge was released to make my job so much easier!

Say HELLO to the Halloween home décor layout!

img_3893

This was created exclusively with Flower Market, from the Halloween banner to the intricate sugar skull to the gorgeous three dimensional flowers!  It was a little hard for me to make black roses, but I think they fit the Halloween theme beautifully!

I can’t wait to make some for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

You can get your own Flower Market cartridge or any other Close To My Heart products by visiting my online shopping site.

Home Décor With Flower Market

Hello Friends!

I recently made this decorative page to display in my Close To My Heart Shadow Box.  The background paper is the woodgrain print from the Rustic Home paper collection.  All the other cuts came from the brand new Flower Market Cricut cartridge.  The sentiment is from the September Stamp of the Month called Blessed Beyond Measure.

I’m planning to offer this to my customers as a home décor workshop this Fall.  I have several Shadow Boxes (now retired) and have plans to make seasonal pages to display in the Shadow box throughout the year.  I’m excited to get to work on the Halloween themed page next!
