And Hello to October! This week at Bitten by the Bug 2 we are celebrating October with a Pumpkin challenge! I really had to restrain myself from just taking a photo of my latest Pumpkin Spice Latte and post that for my project, but then I realized that would not involve a Cricut cut LOL. So I went to Design Space instead to do some searching for something new.
The cut was on Cricut Access and came from a collection called Intricate Seasonal Art. It has three layers and let me tell you, it really is an intricate cut! I think the top layer took at least 10 minutes to finish!
It’s fun to try something new so why don’t you take a look at your cartridges and pick a new pumpkin cut to try! Then link it up at Bitten by the Bug 2 for everyone to enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by! It might be a great day for a pumpkin treat–just sayin’! Laurie
Our challenge at Heart 2 Heart this week is to create a project with Negative Space. I decided to make a boy’s birthday card with an “all star” theme. I pulled some Close To My Heart images into Design Space and started ungrouping, slicing and regrouping until I had what I thought would work for my card.
The papers are from the Adventure paper collection. I used a retired “happy birthday” sentiment and retired white enamel stars to embellish the card.
Stop over to Heart 2 Heart to see the other design team projects and then link up your own projects with Negative Space. We love it when you share your talents!
Thanks for stopping by today! I sure hope you and your loved ones are safe from all the crazy natural disasters brewing the world. Selfishly I’m so relieved it looks like Irma will miss my son and his family in the Florida panhandle. But my prayers are certainly with all the other Floridians who are not so lucky.
Close To My Heart has created a special stamp set called Stronger Together and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross to help with ALL the recent disasters. If you would like to purchase one of these sets, you can shop HERE. Every little bit helps!!
This week at Heart 2 Heart it’s Anything Goes!! That means there are no sketches, themes or guidelines to follow as long as you use Close To My Heart products. I decided to dig into my new Basics Fundamentals paper pack and make a scrapbook layout for my 40th class reunion photos. The new Basics Fundamentals papers are really beautiful and I think this layout nicely showcases several of the patterns in this collection. And doesn’t the new Color of the Year–Bashful–look fabulous with the neutral Basics paper?
The Cricut cuts on this layout came from the new You Are Here cartridge from Close To My Heart. I was really excited to see the Class Reunion image. There is so much more to this cartridge than just travel, believe me! You can find more details about it HERE.
Please stop by Heart 2 Heart to see the other design team projects and then share you own Anything Goes CTMH artwork for everyone to enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by today! Make it a great week! Laurie
It’s Monday and time for another challenge at Heart 2 Heart! This week is a sketch challenge and it’s a fun one! The sketch is very clean and simple and right away I thought about one of the brand new Close To My Heart products to create my card.
I used one of the papers from the new Whimsy Fundamentals collection as the background of my card and created the diagonal line in the sketch by making a row of roses from the Beautiful You Stamp Set and Thin Cut bundle. This is a fabulous triple layered stamp set that can create gorgeous roses with layers and lots of texture.
These roses can be a little tricky to stamp, so I took a few photos of the process.
The first layer is stamped in the new Color of the Year called Bashful.
The second layer is stamped in Blossom. The key is to keep the Thin Cut shapes and the stamps all going in the same direction.
The final layer is stamped in Poppy. I really love the depth that these triple stamps give to the rose images and I can’t wait to experiment with other color combinations to make lots of other roses for lots of other projects!
Please be sure to stop by Heart 2 Heart to see the other design team projects using Haley’s great sketch! Then link up your projects for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope your day is AWESOME! Laurie
The challenge at Heart 2 Heart this week is In Stitches. Instead of faux stitching or making a layout about being “in stitches”, I decided to take it literally and add some real hand sewing to my project.
I used paper and ribbon from Rustic Home Fundamentals along with Sea Glass cardstock. The stitching pattern is from the Stitch Guide by Close To My Heart. I grabbed some old floss and away I went, needle in hand with a vague memory of embroidery from earlier days. While it’s nowhere near perfect, I think it fits with the shabby chic style of the card!
I added sentiments to make this appropriate for a sympathy card, but it could certainly work for any occasion. I’m not sure I’ll do a lot of hand stitching in the future since it takes quite a bit of time, but it was fun to try!
Please stop over to Heart 2 Heart and check out the other design team members’ artwork. You will certainly find some great ideas for adding all kinds of stitching to your projects. Then link them up at H2H for everyone to enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by! Remember to do something AWESOME today! Laurie
