April Showers at BBTB2

Hello Friends!

April Showers bring May…WHAT??  Can you believe it is almost May?  Seriously, if time moved any faster, I’d have to spend even MORE time in my craft room!

This week at Bitten by the Bug 2 the challenge is to use an umbrella cut on our projects.  I found this image of a woman walking in the rain on the City People cartridge.  I honestly had never heard of this cartridge or image group, but that is one of the great things about Cricut Design Space.  You can find so many images that it’s crazy!  Check out the other Design Team projects at Bitten by the Bug 2 and then link up your own work featuring an UMBRELLA!

I used paper from the Regatta paper collection by Close To My Heart to make this card along with a flower cluster from the Complements.  Once again, Close To My Heart made it so very easy to create the perfect project  since absolutely everything in a collection is coordinated!  If you haven’t tried out CTMH products yet, you are really missing the best!

The sentiment came from the Rain or Shine stamp set, also by Close To My Heart.  If you like these Regatta products, don’t delay!  The Regatta, Charlotte and Penelope paper collections are all retiring April 30 along with all the stamp sets in the Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog!  Shop HERE to get your hands on these lovelies before they are all gone!

You can also get the Stamp of the Month, Life in Pictures, for only $5.00 with a $50.00 purchase.

AND…there are only a few more days to join my Close To My Heart team and take advantage of the amazing April promotions for new consultants!  Message me for details about how you can be part of one of the newest CTMH teams.  What have you got to lose?

You are AWESOME!   Laurie

Hello Friends!

There are only a couple of weeks left to get the Hello Life stamp sets!  This is a set of 3 exclusive C sized stamp sets that you can purchase for $13.95 each or all three for only $34.95–that’s a $6.90 savings! I was able to play with these stamps and some of our new colors to create a few cards.  Enjoy!

This card uses the new colors of Pomegranate, Poppy, Saffron, Peacock, and Eggplant to stamp the paint streaks.  I just love these new jewel tones!

I created a background strip using the cute chevron star shape from the Hello Life stamps and mounted it on a Poppy background layered on Peacock.  It is hard to see in the picture, but I also used strips of the new Gold Foil Tape to accent the center panel.

For this card, I used the new Urban paper collection, the Ink Blot stamp set along with the Hello Life stamps.

Pocket Cards

Happy Weekend, Friends!

Usually when I make a card, I just pull out a card base and envelope set from packages I purchased at Michael’s and start decorating.  But lately I have wanted to try some “new to me” styles of cards.  Today I made a few pocket cards using My Mind’s Eye paper and embellishments.  Through a bit of trial and error, I cut an 11 inch scalloped circle from the Cricut Basics cartridge then cut it in half.  I then folded it in thirds and glued the base closed so that it would hold the tag insert and sentiment.  I hope you enjoy these cheerful friendship cards!  Be sure to stop back to see other non-traditional cards in future posts!

Have a Moovalous Day card

Here’s a sweet card I made with the Craftin Desert Divas stamp set I won.  (See previous post)  I used the Have a Moovalous Day sentiment from the Simply Moovalous stamp set.  I made the cute cow using the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge.  The patterned papers are from a ColorBok pack called Beach House, which I purchased at Wal-Mart last year.  I embossed the sentiment with Zing Embossing Powder and popped it up with foam dimensional tape.  The cow is adhered with dimensional squares as well.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Fantabluous Cricut Challenge Blog #226 Kids Theme challenge.

Craftin Desert Diva’s Linky Party #39 Anything Goes

Have a great day!

Friendship Card for CAS-ual Fridays Button Challenge

Here is a quick card for a friend who needs a pick-me-up.  I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug folder and cut the blue frame from the Cricut Elegant Edges cartridge.  I used buttons and stickers from my stash to decorate the frame and spell out the sentiment.  I am entering this card in the CAS-ual Fridays Button Challenge.  I hope you like it!    Laurie

Bitten By The Bug 2 is having a challenge for Ice Cream month!  I made this card using A Child’s Year Cricut cartridge and paper from Echo Park, Everyday Eclectic.  I altered the ice cream cone and made layers in the Cricut Craft Room.  I added adhesive pearls for colorful candies in the ice cream cone and Stickles for the cherry on top.  It can be a birthday card or a friendship card.  Thanks for looking!   Linda
