It’s almost Father’s Day and we are celebrating special Dads at Bitten by the Bug 2 this week! I have made and shared quite a few Father’s Day cards in recent weeks, but there is always room for one more, right? This fancy fold card is made from a Design Space file shared by my fabulous up line, Joy Tracey of Obsessed With Scrapbooking.
The patterned paper I used for this card is from Authentique and the cardstock is from Close To My Heart (Peacock and Colonial White). The stamped sentiments (A Day for Dad and Beyond Awesome) are also from Close To My Heart.
I added a couple of embellishments from the Urban Complements and Triangle Durables, both from Close To My Heart. The card really doesn’t need much in the way of embellishments as the interesting fold is the real star here!

Here are the specials from Close To My Heart this month–get all the details by clicking on each photo.
I just can’t seem to get enough of the grungy, industrial feel of the Urban paper collection from Close To My Heart! And thankfully, Father’s Day gave me the chance to use it again and again. I even swapped out the Father’s Day sentiment for Happy Birthday to double the fun!!
This first card was inspired by some posts I’ve seen online where people are using zip strips from the tops of CTMH paper in creative ways. I dove-tailed the ends of the zip strips and added some pattern paper strips to make a cluster of banners. I had some gear shapes left over from a previous project that I had cut from the Artiste cartridge by Close To My Heart and used them as a border at the top of my card. The sentiment is a stamp from the new Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog.
The second card is also created with a zip strip along the left side, more of the left over gears from Artiste and a few Urban Complements. The sentiment is from the Stamps of Approval stamp set by Close To My Heart. I love that it has coordinating cuts on the Artistry cartridge, so no fussy cutting required!!

Hello, Crafty Friends!
Father’s Day is coming soon and time to find a special card for a special Dad in your life! I made a couple of a fancy fold cards this weekend that I think turned our really well. This type of card looks very complicated, but is actually quite easy–and I think quite impressive after decorating. The first card was made with Authentique paper, which is my favorite paper company (after Close To My Heart, of course)! I embellished the card with burlap pennants from Little Yellow Bicycle, typewriter stickers from my stash, a Cricut cut from the Father’s Day cartridge, and a couple of Close To My Heart stamps in Outdoor Denim ink.
On the second card I used some paper from Kaiser Craft, cork pennants from Little Yellow Bicycle, and stamps from Close To My Heart in Cocoa ink. I also found some metal gears in my stash that I think added just the right masculine touch to finish off the card! I got the idea to make Father’s Day cards in this style from a fellow CTMH consultant, Ellen Jarvis who posted a lovely card on her blog last week. I love how these cards stand up by themselves for display and yet fold flat enough to mail in an envelope.
Thanks for stopping by today! Make it a great week! Laurie
I found this shaped card in the Make It Now projects on Cricut Design Space, and thought it was a fun Father’s Day card. It’s always nice to have a humorous card for a father who might prefer a laugh over a heartfelt sentiment! This was a super quick and easy card to put together. With the Make It Now projects everything is ready to cut once you choose your colors. I did select the “customize” option for this project because I wanted to make the card bigger than the original design.
I hope you’re having a fabulous day!
Hello, Crafty Friends!
Today I am sharing some golf themed items that I made for a recent event at our golf course. The first item is a set of 6 note cards in a matching card holder. I used patterned paper from my stash and Close To My Heart cardstock for all the Cricut cuts. The golf images came from the oldie but goodie cartridge All Sports and Father’s Day. The card holder came from the Artiste cartridge by Close To My Heart.
