This week it is my pleasure to host the challenge over at Heart 2 Heart! The theme of our challenge this week is cleverly called COPY THAT and you are encouraged to copy a project you like in the new Annual Inspirations catalog from Close To My Heart!
I have a group of young children coming to craft later this week to make a small gift for their new teachers. When I saw the cute tags and pencils pictured on page 23, I knew that was going to be the project that my little crafters would make! AND it would also be my design team project because I can COPY THAT!!
I used the new Enchantment Fundamentals paper and ribbon as well as the new School Kids stamp set. This set has some really cute images and I think the littles will enjoy coloring the images of children to decorate their tags.
I wanted to change up my design from the original, so I made a double tag in order to fit on even more of the cute images. I think the children will enjoy making the tags to give to their new teachers and as a former teacher, I think the recipients will appreciate the gifts too!
Please join us at Heart 2 Heart by choosing some artwork from the new Annual Inspirations catalog and COPY THAT! Then link up your projects for everyone to enjoy! I think this challenge will be quite fun for everyone!
Always remember that something WONDERFUL is about to happen! Laurie
I’m loving the new Fundamentals paper collection from Close To My Heart, especially all the bright new colors in the Adventure palette! I created a Workshop with the Adventure Fundamentals and the coordinating Good Times Complements and I’d love to share it with you! I’m sure you’ll want to get your hands on this FIRST EVER Crafty Sisters Creations layout Workshop!! Two of the layouts are based on designs created by Becky Lehman, a fellow Close To My Heart consultant, but tweaked to fit my photo needs and style. Take a look!!
I am offering these layouts at a Workshop on Saturday, August 27 or Sunday, August 28 for anyone interested. We will meet at 1:00 each day. For just $35.00, you can make ALL SIX of these beautiful and colorful 2 page layouts! Everything you need to complete the layouts will be provided. I will cut and sort all the patterned paper for each layout if you’d like for an additional $5.00 cutting fee. If you cannot attend the Workshop, I would be happy to send the kit to you so you can complete it at home. Just add the cost of shipping.
I am so thrilled to be starting this new adventure with my Close To My Heart business and it’s very appropriate to begin that adventure with the new Adventure Fundamentals themselves! Hope you can join the fun!! Laurie

One stamp set (Birthday Sparkles or All the Thanks) shown below
Card bases, envelopes, embellishments, inks and stamping supplies
Ready to assemble precut card kits and Cricut cuts

It’s time for some new Club projects! We will be playing with Florence paper, Calypso paper, and two different sets of Thin Cuts and their coordinating stamp sets.
Our Florence layout will hold four 4×6 photos. My layout has them in the horizontal position, but you can certainly arrange them vertically as well! The simple embellishments are made with the Ornate Blossoms Thin Cuts and coordinating stamp set.
Our fancy fold card is made with Calypso paper and the Tickled Pink Thin Cuts and coordinating stamp set. The style of card is a Vertical Z Fold design.
Club dates will be Sunday, July 10 from 1:00 to 4:00, Monday, July 11 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m and Tuesday, July 12 from 1:00 to 4:00. Everyone is welcome to come! Non-Club members can attend for an $8.00 fee or FREE with a $50.00 CTMH purchase! Hope to see you there!
To celebrate National Scrapbooking Month, Close To My Heart created a beautiful paper pack and coordinating stamp set available only in May. It’s called Happy Times and I guarantee it will make you happy! You can get this paper pack free with a $60 Close To My Heart order or purchase it for only $14.95. Check it out–
The talented CTMH consultant, Tina Lovell, created a set of layouts (my version shown below) to be made with the Happy Times paper pack. There is also a beautiful card workshop available. Aren’t the colors pretty and that gold foil paper is just the bomb!
I am inviting anyone who gets the Happy Times paper pack to a free workshop where we will create these layouts. Or if you would like to make cards instead, I will have directions for those as well. We will meet on Sunday, June 12 or Tuesday, June 14 at 1:00. Just let me know which date will work for you. Remember, it’s all FREE!! Just create, socialize and have fun!

What a week this has been! For a “retired” person, I am awfully busy! Between Book Club, Bridge Club, school visits to observe student teachers, a special paper crafting workshop to plan and several orders for Mother’s Day and Graduation cards, I haven’t had much down time. The good thing is I LOVE it all!
Today I’d like to share the projects we made at the Workshop I was hired to teach for a group of 12 women this week. It was a bit challenging to plan the projects since the participants ranged from novice to more experienced crafters. It was fun to meet new people and share my paper crafting passion!
The first card is a Z fold card made with Sangria paper, Poppy, Saffron, Eggplant and Champagne cardstock, all from Close To My Heart.
The next card uses retired White Pines paper along with Lagoon and Cranberry cardstock. The ladies could choose from several different sentiments to personalize this card for their own needs. This card has a pleated “drapery” fold technique that I found a tutorial for on Pinterest.
The final card is made with retired Nevermore paper with Cranberry and Slate cardstock. Again the participants were able to stamp different sentiments on their cards for Father’s Day or Birthdays or Thank Yous. I stamped a diagonal stripe from a CTMH background stamp as an accent and added some Round Durable metal stickers.
We also made a One Sheet Wonder mini album. The women were able to choose their own colors and style of albums. They picked coordinating Picture My Life cards and matching cardstock to decorate and personalize their albums.
I really enjoyed prepping for this Workshop and “coaching” the women as they worked. They all seemed to enjoy themselves and went home with some great projects!
