It’s time for some new Club projects! We will be playing with Florence paper, Calypso paper, and two different sets of Thin Cuts and their coordinating stamp sets.
Our Florence layout will hold four 4×6 photos. My layout has them in the horizontal position, but you can certainly arrange them vertically as well! The simple embellishments are made with the Ornate Blossoms Thin Cuts and coordinating stamp set.
Our fancy fold card is made with Calypso paper and the Tickled Pink Thin Cuts and coordinating stamp set. The style of card is a Vertical Z Fold design.
Club dates will be Sunday, July 10 from 1:00 to 4:00, Monday, July 11 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m and Tuesday, July 12 from 1:00 to 4:00. Everyone is welcome to come! Non-Club members can attend for an $8.00 fee or FREE with a $50.00 CTMH purchase! Hope to see you there!
To celebrate National Scrapbooking Month, Close To My Heart created a beautiful paper pack and coordinating stamp set available only in May. It’s called Happy Times and I guarantee it will make you happy! You can get this paper pack free with a $60 Close To My Heart order or purchase it for only $14.95. Check it out–
The talented CTMH consultant, Tina Lovell, created a set of layouts (my version shown below) to be made with the Happy Times paper pack. There is also a beautiful card workshop available. Aren’t the colors pretty and that gold foil paper is just the bomb!
I am inviting anyone who gets the Happy Times paper pack to a free workshop where we will create these layouts. Or if you would like to make cards instead, I will have directions for those as well. We will meet on Sunday, June 12 or Tuesday, June 14 at 1:00. Just let me know which date will work for you. Remember, it’s all FREE!! Just create, socialize and have fun!

What a week this has been! For a “retired” person, I am awfully busy! Between Book Club, Bridge Club, school visits to observe student teachers, a special paper crafting workshop to plan and several orders for Mother’s Day and Graduation cards, I haven’t had much down time. The good thing is I LOVE it all!
Today I’d like to share the projects we made at the Workshop I was hired to teach for a group of 12 women this week. It was a bit challenging to plan the projects since the participants ranged from novice to more experienced crafters. It was fun to meet new people and share my paper crafting passion!
The first card is a Z fold card made with Sangria paper, Poppy, Saffron, Eggplant and Champagne cardstock, all from Close To My Heart.
The next card uses retired White Pines paper along with Lagoon and Cranberry cardstock. The ladies could choose from several different sentiments to personalize this card for their own needs. This card has a pleated “drapery” fold technique that I found a tutorial for on Pinterest.
The final card is made with retired Nevermore paper with Cranberry and Slate cardstock. Again the participants were able to stamp different sentiments on their cards for Father’s Day or Birthdays or Thank Yous. I stamped a diagonal stripe from a CTMH background stamp as an accent and added some Round Durable metal stickers.
We also made a One Sheet Wonder mini album. The women were able to choose their own colors and style of albums. They picked coordinating Picture My Life cards and matching cardstock to decorate and personalize their albums.
I really enjoyed prepping for this Workshop and “coaching” the women as they worked. They all seemed to enjoy themselves and went home with some great projects!
Have a wonderful weekend! Laurie
It’s time already for March CTMH Club and here are the projects we will be making:
Our first project is a two page layout using Kaleidoscope paper from the Annual Inspirations catalog. I was so ready for some spring colors so this paper pack was the perfect choice. This is a basic layout design that we made last year at Convention, but I had to change it up a bit! The stamped images are from the Sunshine Birdies stamp set which is the March Stamp of the Month. It has the cutest birds and butterflies plus two great sentiments.
Our second project is a cute springtime card using the Penelope paper collection from the Seasonal Expressions catalog. This card has several layered shapes that give the card some interest along with an image from the Springtime Critters stamp set and coordinating Thin Cuts.
When making these projects, Club members will use the Shin Han markers and Watercolor Pencils and Blending Pen to color the stamped images. They will also practice using Thin Cuts with the Cuttlebug to cut their own images for the front of the card. Remember that practice makes perfect!
Be absolutely AMAZING today! Laurie
