Take a look at Thoughtful Flowers, the December Stamp of the Month! Beautiful flowers and beautiful sentiments make an all around beautiful stamp set!
Here is a Christmas card I made with this Stamp of the Month. I thought one of the flower images resembled a poinsettia, so I stamped three of them in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I then used my watercolor paints to add a bit of color to the images. I layered gold and white shimmer trim over papers from Oh Deer and added a white glitter snowflake and a Christmas sentiment banner.
I especially love the sentiments since they are a bit different than those you usually find on a sympathy card, so I had to make one of those too! I used the gray toned linen paper from the Rustic Fundamentals collection, turning the gold stripe over to silver and adding some silver sequins to the flowers.
And finally, here is a card made by one of the artists at the CTMH Home Office. The flower stamps were used to create the background for the card which really sets off the sentiment on the black banner.

The challenge this week at Bitten by the Bug 2 is to use a Christmas WORD Cricut cut on a project. I used the beautiful “Peace” cut from Anna’s Winter Wonderland to make my simple, but elegant Christmas card.
The background paper I used is from a Christmas collection from Michaels and the Cricut cut has three layers of glitter paper. I added a bow at the top from ribbon I found in my ribbon drawer.

This week at Heart 2 Heart Challenges we are celebrating City Sidewalks, the bright and whimsical holiday paper collection from Close To My Heart! I chose to make a center step card with Cricut images from the coordinating City Sidewalks Cricut collection. These two products go so well together that making this card was just a snap!
I used Willow and Cranberry cardstock which matches perfectly as an accent with the City Sidewalks design paper. To add a bit of pizzazz, I layered red glitter paper behind the Fa La La’s and then added red and green Stickles to each of the light bulbs. I think it made quite a festive card for someone on my Christmas card list!
Please check out the other City Sidewalks projects created by the Heart 2 Heart design team and then link up your own projects for everyone to enjoy. This paper just makes me smile!

This week the challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 is to use a WREATH cut on a project. I decided to incorporate the wreath envelope from Artfully Sent, a retired cartridge from Close To My Heart, with the holly spray from Anna’s Winter Wonderland as an embellishment. Then I made a tag to hold a gift card that will slide inside the wreath envelope.
The paper is from an old My Mind’s Eye Christmas collection. The holly swag and bow are cut from Close To My Heart glitter paper. I think these will make a great way to “fancy up” a plain old gift card–after all, when in doubt just add glitter (or glitter paper)!!
Please stop over to Bitten by the Bug 2 to check out my Design Team sisters’ projects with a Christmas wreath cut. It’s not too late to get some ideas for making your holiday greeting cards for this year! Then link them up so we can all enjoy your artwork.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your week is AWESOME!! Laurie
With the Thanksgiving holiday complete for another year, it’s time to think about Christmas! Of course, I’ve already been busy in my craft room making Christmas items, but now it’s time to share–today it’s gift cards!
I used the Artiste cartridge from Close To My Heart to cut the gift card bases. This is one of my favorite cartridges of all time and I was very sad when it was retired last summer. I cut the cards from some Christmas themed paper in my stash and decorated them with coordinating ribbon and embellishments.
Inside each card is a slot to securely hold a gift card. With so many people opting to give gift cards for presents these days, I like to at least make the “packaging” pretty! These cards are going to a local hair salon and spa that sells my cards, but I can make some for you, too! Cards are $2.00 each and you can contact me at email@example.com for details.

Yesterday I shared a few cards that I made with the November Stamp of the Month called New Year’s Wishes that were NOT related to New Year’s events. While writing that blog post, I thought of another way to use the snowflake stamps on that set and here is the result. A random stamped and heat embossed background and sentiment in non traditional holiday colors!
Since one of the latest challenges at Heart 2 Heart was to create a holiday project using non-traditional colors (no red or green), I decided to link up this card to share. Check out their blog and the other great projects!
Take a look at the sketch above from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge! The next card I made using the November Stamp of the Month was based on this sketch so I am entering it in their challenge. I was pretty ambivalent about the colors while I was making this card, but it turned out to be one of my favs! Check out my previous blog post for more ideas on using the SOTM for non New Year’s creations and visit Atlantic Hearts for even more creative inspiration!
I used the gray side of the Uptown Fundamentals paper along with Slate ink, Whisper cardstock and the Slate polka dot ribbon that coordinates with the Uptown papers. Won’t it make a great wedding or anniversary card? Just change up the sentiment on the inside to fit your occasion!
