Here are a couple more cards made with that gorgeous Charlotte paper collection. These papers are now retired (sad, I know!), but I’m certain that the designs of these cards can be used with any of the fabulous Close To My Heart papers! Check out all the new papers HERE!
In the first card I attempted to make a herringbone background using zip strips. I stamped the sentiment on a trimmed PML style cut-apart from the paper collection.
The second card used another of the Charlotte patterned papers accented with Black and Gold Ribbon and Black enamel dots. I added a layered flower made with the Springtime Wishes Thin Cuts and coordinating stamp set which I colored with Shin Han alcohol markers. The birthday sentiment is from the new Birthday Sparkles stamp set.
Now you can dig out your old Charlotte paper and create some “beauties” like these! Or grab any of the fabulous Close To My Heart papers and make your own versions of these designs! Thanks for stopping by today! Laurie
I know I say this all the time about Close To My Heart paper, BUT…one of my very favorite collections is CHARLOTTE! This paper retired with the first Seasonal Expression last spring, but I had a little left over and decided to play with it again last week. I think this paper is perfect for making projects for weddings and anniversaries.
The first card is made entirely with the Charlotte Complements on a background of subtle floral pattern paper. I loved the sentiment on the right side and then just layered different arrows, a heart and a flower to accent.
This card has one of the PML style cut-aparts as the focal point on the black and white background. I added a zip strip on the side and then layered on some flowers. I used the Springtime Wishes Thin Cuts and coordinating stamp set to create the flowers. They are colored with our Shin Han alcohol markers.
Stop back again tomorrow to see two more cards made with the beautiful Charlotte paper collection by Close To My Heart. So sad it is retired, but so happy I have a little bit left! Laurie
Yesterday I shared some cards that I made with the Hearts and Stars Thin Cuts by Close To My Heart. Today I have some cards made with the word Thin Cuts–Happy, Celebrate and Love. They cut so easily with any die cutting machine like a Cuttlebug or Big Shot. The most challenging thing about them is applying adhesive since the cuts are pretty thin, but I used my Bonding Memories Glue Pen and it worked just fine.
I used the chevron woodgrain paper from the Rustic Home Fundamentals collection for the background of my card. The “Happy” was cut from Poppy cardstock and adhered to a banner shape in Peacock. The “birthday” sentiment was stamped in Poppy ink and I added a bow of Poppy twine as the only embellishment.
The background for these cards is the gold embossed vellum from the Uptown Fundamental collection. It’s hard to see in the pictures, but the polka dots are actually shiny gold embossed circles. This time I cut the Thin Cuts from gold and black glitter paper and added the Black and Gold Ribbon to give it a sophisticated look. I think these would be great for a wedding or anniversary card. Plus they are big enough to be the title on a scrapbook page–love that!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having an awesome day! Laurie
The May Stamp of the Month from Close To My Heart is called Celebrate With Cake. It’s a cute “build a cake” style stamp set that can be used for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and other occasions. Here are a couple of cards that you can make if you have this stamp set. Take a look!
The cards I made with this stamp set use a couple of different techniques. On this first card I stamped directly on patterned paper from the Happy Times paper collection, then fussy cut the images and added some doodling.
The second card is for an anniversary. I stamped the cake with Versa Mark, sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder and then heat embossed the image. After that it was easy to apply color with Watercolor Paints and the new Water Brushes from Close To My Heart. If you haven’t used them yet, you’ve got to give them a try! The paper I used for this card is also from the Happy Times paper collection.
Now that it is June, there is a new Stamp of the Month. This one is called “The Long Way Home”. I can’t wait to make some projects with this one too!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! You are appreciated! Laurie
