Bridal Shower card

Happy 2015 to all!  My family and I celebrated the New Year with a vacation to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, where we had a fabulous time!  The people were extremely friendly and the weather was gloriously sunny and warm!  As I write this post tonight, it’s a mere -3 degrees outside.  Boo!  I keep looking at the beach picture I put on my phone’s lock screen and wishing we were still there!

Oh well…on to my first card of 2015.  I made a bridal shower card for my niece, whose shower took place when I was on vacation.  I decided to use the CTMH Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge which I purchased from my crafty sister, Laurie.  I have not had much time to play around with this cartridge yet, so it took a few minutes to figure out how to put it together.  I also am still learning Design Space!  I used paper from a pack by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts called Best Of, which I purchased at Michael’s last fall.  I added some pearls to the umbrella and brushed clear Wink of Stella onto the word “bridal”.  I thought the umbrella and word got lost in the patterned paper, so I cut them each 3 times to layer them and add dimension.  It’s still pretty hard to see the umbrella in this picture.  Forgive me for using such a poor image.  I won’t use my iPhone next time!  Of course, I used foam tape, too, to pop them up!  I love foam tape!

Thanks for looking and have a crafty week!
