Bitten By The Bug 2–Birthday Cake

Hello, Friends!

It’s Monday and that means it’s time for another Design Team project for Bitten By The Bug 2!  This week’s challenge is to create a project that includes a birthday cake Cricut cut.  Well, since I have yet to start on my grandson’s first birthday scrapbook pages, this challenge was the perfect fit!  Hop on over to the BBTB2 blog to see the other Design Team members’ projects.  Then link up your own birthday cake projects to share with us all!

For the birthday cake, I used the oldie but goodie cartridge Stretch Your Imagination.  I did not want candles on the cake, so I took them out of the original design using the hide contour tool in Design Space.  At the top of the cake I placed a “Happy First Birthday” title from Baby Steps.  The cake plate provided a perfect spot for my journaling!  The paper I used was from Echo Park and the cardstock was mostly from Close To My Heart.

My grandson seriously did not want to eat any of his cake and I KNOW he did not inherit that trait from me!!  He did have a great time making a huge mess, however.  I hope you all have a great week and I say, “Eat cake every day!!”    Laurie

  1. LOVE this layout. The birthday cake is perfect for the photo. And I really like how your journaling is on the cake – too cute. The colors are wonderful, and Melanie is right – that bit of shimmer trim looks really nice too!

  2. This is just the cutest layout! I love the fun papers and design. What an awesome idea to journal on the cake plate. Love it!!
