BBTB2 Design Team Project–Back to School!

Hello Friends!

Today I am sharing my Design Team project for Bitten By The Bug 2.  The theme for the week is Back To School and boy, does this bring up some bittersweet feelings for me!  After teaching young children for 32 years, it always feels a little strange to be working in my craft room instead of getting ready for a new school year!  But fortunately those bittersweet feelings are very short lived because I LOVE RETIREMENT more!!

I chose to make a card for this challenge.  I used the cute Teddy Bear Parade and Recess Cricut cartridges and designed my card in Design Space.  I seriously don’t know how I accomplished anything before I started using my Explore and the Design Space software.  It is so much easier now!  I used bright, primary colors for my cuts and placed them on a background that was embossed with my Cuttlebug.

Please join us at Bitten By The Bug 2 by linking your school themed projects this week.  We LOVE to see what everyone creates!

Remember something WONDERFUL is about to happen!   Laurie

  1. So cute! Love the background embossing-it adds so much. And the darling little school bear is too cute for words! I’m looking forward to someday being retired and having a bit more crafty time-I’m envious!

  2. Oh my! I just love your card Laurie!! That little school bear and the schoolhouse are just wonderful!! Love the embossing, too!! 🙂

  3. Awww, this is such a cute card. Gotta love the bear school girl. Nice job on the embossing and the schoolhouse is so cute. I almost used the back to school image, lol.

  4. Laurie, I love your Back To School your back to school project. Your little girl bear is so sweet but I especially like the bright letters on the black base!

I can imagine that you do have bittersweet tinges as others are preparing for school. The only thing that compares for me is that I thing I had my first child before I stopped thinking it was time to go back to college in the fall. Of course these days I watch my teacher children do all of the back to school prep!!
