Backpacking Layout

My husband and two of my sons went backpacking earlier this summer in Rocky Mountain National Park.  Although our family has been camping and hiking many times in the past, this was the first time backpacking and camping overnight for the two boys.  It was a fairly secluded trail and they had to pack out everything they took up with them.  They even needed to use special bear-proof canisters to store all their food and any scented items like toothpaste and deodorant.  They were really roughing it!  Luckily they did not encounter any bears on their hike, but they did have a deer visit their campsite.

When I saw that Bitten By The Bug 2 was having a “Happy Camper” Challenge I decided it was the perfect incentive I needed to start working on a scrapbook of their trip.  I used some paper from a pack by Colorbok called Nature Lover that I bought at Wal-Mart last year.  All the die cut phrases and images are from the Cricut Outdoor Man cartridge.  I also used a few wooden embellishments from the Close To My Heart  Timberline Assortment, which I believe is now retired.  Thank you, BBTB2, for having this challenge and getting me started on a new project! 🙂

The guys really were roughing it! lol We camp in a tent too, but this gal is getting to old for a tent. I need an upgrade. lol Thanks for joining us at BBTB2 😉
